    Josephine "Jodie" Kathryn Borski Skrivanek, 92, of Bryan, passed away Sunday, January 20, 2019, peacefully at her home.

    Visitation will be Wednesday, January 23, 2019 from 5-7 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan with a Rosary recited at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, January 24, 2019, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 507 E. 26th Street, Bryan, with Pastor Emeritus Rev. Msgr. John A. McCaffrey officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

    Jodie was born October 27, 1926, in Roans Prairie to Victor Harold and Cecilia Seigle Borski. She graduated from Anderson High School and then Sam Houston State Teachers College with a business administration degree and a teaching certificate in August 1947. She married Julius (Juke, J.A.) Arnold Skrivanek May 22, 1948.

    Jodie spent many busy years active in a local garden club, St. Joseph Catholic Church Women's Guild (four-time president) and Eucharistic Ministry, several bridge groups, and The Woman's Club. She worked for a while at Texas A&M and then supported her husband in establishing their Skrivanek Home Building, Inc. business.

    She enjoyed sewing, gardening, golfing, water aerobics, entertaining friends and family, and tending to her family, which has left them with many wonderful memories to cherish.

    Jodie is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, J.A. Skrivanek; parents Victor and Cecilia and step-mother Beatrice Borski; brothers Walter (Margaret, Ardelle) and Tom Borski; sisters Hattie (Charlie) Smith, Ann (Bob) Jenkins, and Bernice Clark; and son-in-law Bob Meyer.

    Jodie is survived by her children, Judy Harber, Debbie Meyer, Susan (Jimmy) Ingram, and Jay (Jennifer) Skrivanek, all of Bryan-College Station; grandchildren, Kelley Meyer, Kathy (Steve) Hawkins, Amy (Andrew) Persyn, Joe Harber, Lauren (Chris) Chapman, Stacey Ingram, Justin Skrivanek, and Jordan Skrivanek; great-grandchildren, Stella and Hayes Sutphin, Elizabeth and Caroline Chapman, and Ethan Hawkins; sister, Wilma (Carnell) Carrell of Anderson; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Borski of Bryan; and many other dear relatives.

    Pallbearers and ushers will be Jay Skrivanek, Jimmy Ingram, Joe Harber, Justin Skrivanek, Steve Hawkins, Andrew Persyn, Chris Chapman, Charles Ray Smith, Luke Rizzo, David Borski, Randy Schultz, Bubba Agnello, John David Skrivanek, Joey Skrivanek, Carnell Carrell, Chris Carrell, and Bill Foster.

    The family would like to thank all the many kind and caring staff at St. Joseph Hospital, St. Joseph Manor, Crestview, Comfort Keepers, and Hospice Brazos Valley for their loving care during Jodie's last few years.
