    JOHN KENDRICK BUMGARDNER died Thursday, March 1, 1979, at his residence in Baton Rouge. He was 63, a native of Jena. He was a veteran of World War II. Religious services were held at Hollabaugh-Spindle's Wooddale Memorial Chapel Saturday, conducted by the Rev. Stafford Rogers and the Rev. George Terrell. Burial in Greenoaks Memorial Park.

    Survived by his wife, Mrs. Beulah Gass Bumgardner, Baton Rouge; two daughters, Miss Kathryn Lee Ann Smith and Miss Amy Bumgardner, both of Baton Rouge; two sons, John Larry Bumgardner, Baton Rouge, and James K. Bumgardner, New Orleans; four sisters, Mrs. Wilhelmina Elkins, Robeline, Mrs. Beth Sistrunk and Mrs. Ada Claire Brown, both of Shreveport, and Mrs. Mary Bass, Slidell; two brothers, Fred E. Bumgardner, Macon, Ga., and James E. Bumgardner, Shreveport.

    Preceded in death by a brother, Francis M. Bumgardner, and his parents. He was a member of Brookstown Baptist Church and the Capital Masonic Lodge.

    BUMGARDNER, ETTA KATHRYN HARRIS Died 7 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, 1992, at the Acadian Nursing Home, Gonzales. She was 76, a native of Homer, and a resident of Gonzales. Visiting was held at the Welsh Funeral Home, Gonzales, 5 to 10 p.m. Thursday. Graveside services at the Cotton Valley Cemetery, Cotton Valley, at 3 p.m. Friday, conducted by the Rev. Victor Matthews. Survived by two daughters, Kathryn LeAnn Ellsworth and Amy Pettigrew, both of Gonzales; a son, J. Larry Bumgardner, Baton Rouge; two brothers, Gordon Harris, Carthage, Texas, and Charles Harris, Cotton Valley; and four grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents, Glover and Annie Harris; a sister, Jimmie Loftin; and a brother, Earl Harris.

    She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, Baton Rouge. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cancer Society Greater Baton Rouge, 650 Steele Blvd., Baton Rouge, 70806. Welsh Funeral Home, Gonzales, in charge of arrangements.
