    Lucille Ray (Peters) Clement was born on February 24. 1941 in Bellville Texas. She passed away peacefully September 7, 2018 in Jersey Village, Texas. She is preceded in death by her husband of 38 years Gaston Inoch Clement, daughter Dawn Eileen Clement, grandson Lance Colin Clement, son-in law William (Eddie) Wadley, and parents Frank and Betty Peters. She is survived by her daughter Audra Camille Clement-Wadley, son Neil Ashley Phillips and wife kim, first cousin Robert Merman, grandson Neil Ashley Phillips II and wife Sarah Phillips, granddaughter Sarah Phillips great grandsons Dorian Ahanu Smith and Benoit Enoch Takota Smith, daughter in-law Breta Tacker and a host of friends and colleagues.

    Lucille grew up on a farm in the Coushatta community attending Piney Elementary and Bellville High School. She spent a lengthy career in nursing, having started as a nurse-tech at Hermann Hospital. She then became a trained vocational nurse earing her LVN certificate from Hermann Hospital School of Practical Nursing. She continued, always working full time, to earn her Associates Degree in Applied Science in 1965 as well as her Registered Nurse degree in 1972 from Lee College in Baytown, Texas. She also held Certification in Gerontological Nursing Altogether she served 46b years practicing nursing in several hospitals in the surrounding Houston area and as a staff nurse unit coordinator and nursing supervisor. She spent the last 17 years b of her career in Geriatric Mental Health Nursing. Many co-workers remained friends in retirement. She enjoyed gardening, needlepoint, traveling and reading but most of all spending time with her family. She was a very sweet and good person who was always full of excitement and will be loved and missed by all who knew her. Lucille (Clem) (Granny Clem) was a dog lover, having companion animals since childhood, starting with her first dog Trixie. She adopted many fur babies who needed a home over the years, all of whom became special friends she was also an avid reader and enjoyed traveling having visited most of the United States and Canada, the Caribbean and Europe. She made several trips to England to see her pen pal Doreen - a correspondence spanning since the age of 10. Even though she worked a lot she always had time for her children and would do anything for them from helping them with homework to taking vacations that weren't just fun, but she read up on the places they were going and would point things out and teach them about the area Granny Clem, as she became known since the birth of her first grandson was an awesome grandparent. She travelled with Neil and Sarah on many occasions to such places as the Caribbean, France, Belgium and Germany She also gave them the greatest loving gift of all by serving as a role model of challenging work perseverance and intelligent loving fun. She will be greatly missed by all.

    A visitation for family and friends will be held at Sterling-White Funeral Home, 11011 Crosby-Lynchburg Rd. Highlands, on Friday morning September 14, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. followed by services in Sterling White Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in Sterling White Cemetery.
