    Obituary:

    GANT, MARY, age 83, of Birmingham, AL, died peacefully on Sunday, October 15, 2006 after a long illness. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Lloyd E. Gant.

    Mary was the beloved mother of two sons, Lloyd Gant of Townsend, TN and Robert Gant of Lynn Haven, FL; two daughters, Catherine Larson of Westminster, CO and Elizabeth Sheetz of Hoover. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Melanie Zarzaur of Vestavia Hills, Christian Sheetz of Alabaster, and Stuart McNabb of Athens, TN; and four great grandchildren.

    Special love and thanks to Chris Zarzaur and Jennifer Sheetz. Thanks also to her loving and faithful friends, Mr. and Mrs. Randy Dula, Mrs. Julie Isler, all of Panama City, FL, Kenneth Plese and Gerry Plese, Joliet, IL.

    Also thanks to the loving, caring staff of South Haven Health and Rehab, and to the staff of Odyssey Health Care.

    Private graveside services will be held. Ridout's Southern Heritage directing.

    Anton Crnkovich, 86, of McDonalds Chapel, died Sunday. He was a native of Yugoslavia and a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with burial in Oakland Cemetery, Angwin Ensley directing. Survivors include a son, John Cren, Birmingham; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Gant, Panama City, Fla; four brothers, Angel Crnkovich, Joe Crnkovich, Alfred Crnkovich, and Charlie Crnkovich, all of Shreveport, La., and a sister, Mrs. Antonia Ozbolt, Birmingham.
