    Myrtle McCulloch, longtime resident of Atascosa County, Texas, passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2010, at 5:25 A..M., in the Southwest General Hospital in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 69 years, 4 months, 21 days. Myrtle was born August 15, 1940, in Baldwin, Louisiana, the daughter of Robert Leroy McIntyre Sr. and Adeal Shugart McIntyre. She was a homemaker and spent most of her life in the Poteet and Lytle area.

    On June 4, 1966, Myrtle married A.W. (Mac) McCulloch. Mac preceded her in death on February 23, 2005. Myrtle was an avid Dallas Cowboys and San Antonio Spurs fan and enjoyed watching their games.

    She loved going gambling in Las Vegas and Louisiana with her friends; she played poker, bingo, and cards, and at one time she was a member of three bunco clubs, at the same time. Above all Myrtle loved her granddaughters and delighted in spending time with them. Myrtle is survived by her daughter, Terry Shanefelter and husband Clinton George of Somerset, Texas; her granddaughters, Kristy Shanefelter, Kayla Shanefelter, and Kourtney Shanefelter; step-daughter Rebecca Rice of Devine and several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her brother-in-law Travis McCulloch of Lakehills, Texas; her sister-in-law, Mary McIntyre of Garland, Texas; her uncle, J.C. Shugart of Louisiana; her nephews, Tracy Willmon, Kelly McIntyre and Michael McIntyre all of the Dallas area; and numerous cousins.

    Mrs. McCulloch was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Adeal McIntyre; her husband, Ashby Wayne McCulloch; her brother, Robert Leroy McIntyre Jr.; her sister, Nettie Elizabeth Roaneu; and her two nephews Gordon and Kenneth Willmon. Visitation was held from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. Friday, January 8, 2010, in the Vinyard-Trevino Funeral Home in Jourdanton. Funeral services were held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 9, 2009, in the Vinyard-Trevino Funeral Home, followed by interment in the Rutledge Cemetery in Poteet, Texas.

    Former Resident Dies In Dallas

    Robert L. McIntyre, 53, brother of Mrs. Vera Rogers and Mrs. E.P. Leonard, both of Wichita Falls, died early Friday morning in Dallas.

    A retired steelworker, McIntyre lived in Wichita Falls 20 years before moving to Dallas 10 years ago. He was born in Eastland County, Tex., in 1908.

    Services will be held from the Lamar & Smith Funeral Home in Dallas at 3 p.m. Saturday.

    Survivors include his widow, Adeal; a son, Robert L. McIntyre of Dallas; two daughters, Mrs. Coy Wilmon and Mrs. Joe Preston, both of Dallas; two brothers, E.S. McIntyre of Denison and J.B. McIntyre of Bowie; and three other sisters, Mrs. Velma Hearne of Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs. Bessie Holston of Ashtown, ark., and Mrs. Virginia Blaskowsky of Weslaco, Tex.

    Adeal S. Brown of Poteet, TX, age 86, passed away in Jourdanton, TX on July 14, 2002.

    Mrs. Brown was born in Paint Rock, TX on November 5, 1915. She was married to Robert L. McIntyre from 1935 until his death in 1961. In 1965, she married William M. Brown, who also preceded her in death in 1978. Mrs. Brown worked as a bookkeeper for the Republic Bank in Dallas, TX. In her later years, she moved to Poteet to be close to her daughter.

    Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her son, Robert L. McIntyre Jr., and daughter, Nettie Elizabeth (Betty) Willmon.

    She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Myrtle M. and A.W. McCulloch of Poteet, TX; one brother, Jay C. Shugart of Picayune, MS; one daughter-in-law, Mary McIntyre of Garland, TX; four grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

    Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 16, 2002 from 1:00 until 5:00 P.M. at the Tri-City Funeral Home in Jourdanton, TX.

    A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, July 17, 2002 at 10:00 A.M. in the Chapel of the Tri-City Funeral Home of Jourdanton, TX.

    Interment will follow in the Rutledge Cemetery under the direction of the Tri-City Funeral Home of Jourdanton, TX.
