    Raymond was born September 27, 1922 in Electra, Texas to Arther Glenn and Ronnie Emily Smith Stanford. He and Pauline Hunter were married September 21, 1940 in Electra, Texas. He was a lifetime resident of Electra. He was a past member of the Trail Blazers Square Dance Club of Electra and a member of the First Baptist Church of Electra. He worked as a warehouse foreman for West Tex Seat Covers until his retirement. Raymond served in the US Navy during WWII. He was a Radarman 3rd Class aboard the USS Leutze DD0481 from October 1943 until December 1945. He received the American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with 5 stars, Philippine Campaign Medal with 2 stars and World War II Victory Medal. The ship participated in the battles at Palau, Leyte Gulf, Lingayen Gulf, Iwo Jima, Okinawa and Surigao Straits.

    His parents, wife, brothers, Luther Dean and Otis Glenn and a granddaughter, Kristie Lee Stanford preceded him in death.

    He is survived by his sons, Paul Stanford and wife, Marcia of Pagosa Springs, Colorado and Bruce Stanford and wife, Bonnie of Wichita Falls, Texas; grandsons, Jimmy Stanford and David Stanford of Florida, Greg Stanford of Wichita Falls, Texas and Jerry Stanford and wife, Amy of Wichita Falls, Texas; great granddaughters, Lara and Shawna Kimbrell of Wichita Falls, Texas; sister, Rama Beth Magers and husband, J.B. "Banny" of Electra, Texas; sisters-in-law, Frankie Stanford of Chillicothe, Texas, Nell Carriker of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Peggy Hunter of Lubbock, Texas and Nell Hunter of Wichita Falls, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews.

    Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Wichita Falls, P.O. Box 4804 Wichita Falls, Texas, 76308.

    Visitation will be at 1 p.m. Monday until service time at First Baptist Church of Electra, Texas.

    Pauline (Hunter) Stanford, 87, passed away Saturday, August 21, 2010 in Electra, TX. Funeral Services will be held at 1 PM on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at First Baptist Church of Electra with Rev. Charles Nichols officiating. Graveside Services will follow at the New Electra Cemetery under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home in Iowa Park.

    Pauline was born May 1, 1923 in Electra, TX to G.A. "Pat" Hunter and Lula M. (Harrison) Hunter. She was a graduate of Electra High School and was a member of First Baptist Church of Electra. She married Raymond O. Stanford on September 21, 1940 in Electra. She was a former Band Parents President, Sunday School Teacher, worked in the PTA, and loved to travel.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Lou Allen Hunter, Odel Hunter, Weldon Hunter and A.T. Hunter, and one granddaughter, Kristie Lee Stanford.

    Surviving relatives include her husband, Raymond O. Stanford of Electra; two sons, Bruce Stanford and his wife, Bonnie of Wichita Falls and Paul Stanford and his wife, Marcia of Pagosa Springs, CO; four grandsons, Jimmy Stanford of Florida, David Stanford of Florida, Greg Stanford of Wichita Falls, and Jerry Stanford and his wife, Amy of Wichita Falls; one sister, Rose Nell Carriker of Santa Fe, NM; and two sisters-in-law, Peggy Hunter of Lubbock, TX, and Nell Hunter of Wichita Falls.

    Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at First Baptist Church in Electra. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association or to American Hospice, 4210 Kell Blvd, Suite 211, Wichita Falls, TX 76309.

    G. A. Hunter Funeral Rites Held Here Today

    Funeral services for George Allen (Pat) Hunter, 75, who died here Tuesday afternoon following a lengthy illness, were held at 3:00 PM (today) from the First Methodist Church.

    The Rev. Don Youngblood pastor, officiated. Burial was in Electra Cemetery under the direction of James B. Totten and Son Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Homer McDonald, Cullen Barrow, J. R. Brown, Jack Chaffee, Max Griffin, all of Electra, and Carl Birdwell of Wichita Falls.

    A retired oil producer and drilling contractor, Hunter died Tuesday in an Electra hospital following a lengthy illness. He was born April 16, 1888, in Wise County.

    His wife, Mrs. Lula M. Hunter, preceded him in death in August, 1963.

    Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. R. O. Stanford of Electra, and Mrs. George Carriker of Carlsbad, NM; three sons, Lue Allen Hunter of Dallas; A. T. Hunter of Wichita Falls, and Weldon Hunter of Kermlt; four sisters, Mrs. Mary McCracken of McLean; Mrs. Odessa Carver of Lubbock; Mrs. Frances Paulk and Mrs. Bessie LeBobo, both of Amarillo; two brothers, Jack Hunter of Odessa and Charles Hunter of Midland; 11 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

    Mrs. Hunter Funeral Rites Held Here Today

    Funeral services for Mrs. Lula Hunter, 70, who died Tuesday following a long illness, were held at 4:00 PM today from the First Methodist Church.

    The Rev. Don Youngblood, pastor, officiated. Burial was m the New Electra Cemetery under direction of the James B. Totten and Son Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Paul Jones, Paul Rapp, Paul Weaver, Howard McDonald, Homer McDonald, and Johnny R. Brown.

    A resident of Wichita County for about 40 years, Mrs. Hunter had resided in Electra the past 25 years. She was born February 10, 1893, in Texas. Her husband, G. A. Hunter, is a retired oil operator and drilling contractor.

    Survivors include her husband; three sons, A. T. Hunter of Wichita Falls, L. Allen Hunter of Dallas, and Weldon E. Hunter of Kermit; two daughters, Mrs. Nell Carriker of Carlsbad, NM, and Mrs. Raymond Stanford of Electra, nine grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
