    Nick Crnkovic, Sr. was born to Alphonse and Mary Crnkovic on September 10, 1930 in Oak Grove, Louisiana and died on December 21, 2023 at the age of 93. He was married to Jo-Anne Renyolds Crnkovic. He was a beloved and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and brother. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alphonse and Mary Crnkovic; Jo-Anne Renyolds Crnkovic, his wife; and older sister Louise Pate.

    Nick began working while still in high school working several jobs in his hometown of Hemphill Texas including movie projectionist, soda jerk, logging truck driver and working the wheat harvest through Kansas and Colorado. Then after a short stay in the navy he went to Houston. Nick attended college and apprentice school to become a journeyman sheet metal worker. While working for Straus Systems, he worked his way up to field superintendent supervising large commercial projects. After 43 years at Straus he retired in 1995.

    Nick and Jo-Anne married in June of 1952. They resided their entire lives in Houston. They raised 4 children and were very active in the church, in the community. They also traveled throughout the US, Canada, Central America, and Europe. Nick was president of the Civic Club for many years, involved in the Positive Interactive Program (PIP), Houston Citizens Police Academy Alumni, Citizen Patrol, and was appointed to committees and advisory boards for the City of Houston. He received several accolades and awards for his community service from governmental officials. On a more personal level he took up yoga, expanded his hobbies and found delight in making intricate and elaborate wooden toys for his great grandchildren.

    Nick and Jo-Anne celebrated 60 years of marriage before she passed in 2012. They have 4 children: Diane Alleva, Nick Crnkovic, Jr and wife Susan, Kathy McManus and husband Dan, and Leslie Crnkovic. He also has 6 grandchildren: Marie Henry, Daniel McManus, Robert Alleva, Sarah Crnkovic, Gary Alleva, and Mary Crnkovic Lee, as well as 8 great grandchildren.

    Nick is survived by all of his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, his brothers Fred and Rickey Crnkovic, sister Cheryl Crnkovic Vines, and several nieces and nephews.

    Rest in peace, Nick. you will remain in our hearts forever.

    Jo-Anne (Jodie) Crnkovic was born to Roger William and Dona Mae Reynolds on June 15, 1935, departed from this life on earth to be with her Lord and Savior on September 3, 2012.

    She married the love of her life, Nick A. Crnkovic. She was a beloved and devoted wife, daughter-in-law, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, sister-in-law and friend.

    She is preceded in death by her parents, Roger William & Dona Mae Reynolds; brothers, Roger J. Reynolds, Harrell D. Reynolds, Billy Bob Reynolds

    Jo-Anne married Nick Crnkovic in 1952 at the age of seventeen and has lived her entire adult life in Houston, Texas. Jo-Anne was a faithful member of Christian Temple located in Houston, Texas. Nick and Jo-Anne recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.

    She devoted her life to her Lord Jesus Christ, her husband and entire family whom she loved dearly.

    Through the years Jo-Anne has been active in local civic and church organizations such as; Chairman for the local chapter for the March of Dimes, Cub Scout Den Mother, Missionettes Leader, Ladies Auxillary, Room Mother, Red Hat Society, Editor for the Civic Club, Board Member of the Civic Club, Positive Interactive Program (PIP), Houston Citizens Police Academy Alumni, Liason for the Citizen Patrol for the City of Houston, Patrol Person for the Citizen Patrol.

    Jo-Anne was a wonderful wife and mother to her children and a wonderful grandmother to her six grandkids. Her most recent excitement was with the birth of her first great grandchildren.

    Jo-Anne is survived by her loving husband, Nick Crnkovic, children; Diane Alleva and husband Greg, Nick Crnkovic and wife, Susan, Kathy McManus and husband Dan and Leslie Crnkovic; grandchildren: Marie Henry and husband Shady, Daniel McManus and wife Sulinda, Robert Alleva, Sarah Crnkovic, Gary Alleva and wife Lauren, Mary Crnkovic; great grandchildren, Viviana and Andrew Henry. She will also be missed by all.

    Visitation will be held Thursday, September 6th from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Niday Funeral Home - Beamer Chapel. The Funeral Service will be Friday at 10:00am at Christian Temple Assembly of God, 9701 Almeda Genoa, Houston.

    Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.

    Services were held at St. Ann Catholic Church, on October 25, at 11:30 a.m., with Father Gilles Boyer officiating. Burial was at St. Ann Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home.

    He is survived by three sons, Nick Crnkovic of Houston, Tex., Fred Crnkovic of Bridge City, Tex., and Ricky Crnkovic of Ebarb; two daughters, Louise Pate of Glenmore, and Cheryl Vien of Ebarb; two brothers, Angle Crnkovic of Oak Grove, and Joseph Crnkovic of Zwolle; one sister, Antonio Ozbolt of Birmingham, Al.

    Funeral services for B. L. Crnkovic, 78, who passed away Friday, Jan. 6, were conducted at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Zwolle, at 1 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 8, with Rev. Father Robert C. Friend officiating. Interment was in St. Joseph Cemetery, under the direction of the Warren Funeral Home.

    Survivors are sons, Anton of Birmingham. Ala., Angel of Oak Grove, Alfred of Hemphill, Joseph of Zwolle, C.
