    James Richard (Rick) Allen, 60, of Sarepta, Louisiana, passed away on February 4, 2019 at his home. He was born on April 22, 1958 in Camden, Arkansas, to James and Delores. He was a graduate of Cotton Valley High School and was of the Baptist faith. He served in the United States Air Force. He was an author, artist, gunsmith, carpenter, and an avid history enthusiast. He was also an amazing mechanic and had a general talent for fixing things. He had a passion for the outdoors and chose a career in the timber industry. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, reading, and spending time with loved ones. He and Denise began their life together in 1979. He was proceeded in death by his father, James Edward Allen, brother Michael Douglas Allen, maternal grandparents Author Richard Brazil and Opal Ophelia Brazil, and paternal grandparents Walter Allen and Beulah Pearl Allen. He is survived by his wife Denise, daughters Lindsay, Sylvia, Jessica, and Samantha, grandchildren Patrick, Caraline, Emma, Merrick, Landon, Ely, Anthony, Gerald, Thomas, Junice-Justin III, and Richard-Wyatt all of Sarepta, Louisiana, his mother Delores Brazil of Leton, Louisiana, sisters Kathy and husband Bobby of Meridian Mississippi, Karen and husband Randy of Leton, Louisiana, Brenda and husband Earl of Batesville, Arkansas and many nieces and nephews.

    A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 9, 2019, at New Sarepta Baptist Church in Sarepta, Louisiana.

    In lieu of flowers donations can be made at Citizens National Bank of Springhill in Springhill, Louisiana.

    Obituary:

    Funeral services for Mr. Stephen Bannerman Pugh Jr., 80, were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug 25, 2001 in the chapel at Bailey Mortuary with the Rev. Charles Woolley officiating. Burial followed in the Old Sarepta Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Mortuary of Springhill.

    Mr. Pugh died Wednesday, Aug. 22, in the Dubois Hospital of Shreveport following an illness.

    He was a native of Grand Cane, La. and a resident of Shreveport. He was a US Navy veteran of WWII and an employee of International Paper Company for 26 years as a boilerman. He raised cattle, horses, and loved to hunt and fish. He was a member of New Sarepta Baptist Church where he serves as a deacon. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Ziegler Pugh in 1988.

    Mr. Pugh is survived by a daughter, Denise Allen and her husband, James of Sarepta; a son, David Pugh and his wife, Mary of Bradley, Ark.; two brothers, Dr. N.O. Pugh of Shreveport and Jay Orielee Pugh of Lakeland, Fla.; a sister, Margaret Ashbaugh of Blue Springs, Mo. and four grandaughters, Lindsay Thompson and her husband, Jason, and Sylvia Allen, Jessica Allen and Samantha Allen.

    Pallbeareres were Billy Edwards, W.H. Harper, John Stamper, Wiley Holley, Roland Colvin, and John Reeves.

    SAREPTA, LA - Services for Mr. Stephen B. Pugh, Sr., 95, of Sarepta, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday Sept. 15 at the New Sarepta Baptist Church, where he was a member and deacon. The Rev. Richard May will officiate. Burial: Old Sarepta Cemetery. Plans are under the direction of Bailey Mortuary of Springhill, La.

    He died Tuesday Sept. 13, 1983, in Springhill. Mr. Pugh, a native of the Friendship Community in DeSoto Parish, La. and a resident of Sarepta for 55 years, was retired from International Paper Co. and was a retired farmer.

    He is survived by three sons, Dr. N.O. Pugh, Sr. of Shreveport, Stephen B. Pugh, Jr. of Sarepta and Orie Lee Pugh of Lake Wales, Fla.; one daughter, Margaret Ashbaugh of Blue Springs, Kansas; eleven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

She was an active member and Sunday school teacher at New Sarepta Baptist Church, was active in the Southern Baptist Missionary Association, and taught school in the public schools at Logansport.

    She is survived by her husband, Stephen B. Pugh, Sr. of Sarepta; three sons, Dr. N.O. Pugh, Sr. of Shreveport, Stephen B. Pugh, Jr. of Sarepta, and Orie Lee Pugh of Lake Wales, Fla.; a daughter, Margaret Ashbaugh of Blue Springs, Kan.; a sister, Gertie Cochran of Sarepta; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
