    Obituary:

    SHREVEPORT, LA - Services for Maynard Fielder, 78, will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, October 23, 2000 in the chapel of Wellman Funeral Home. Officiating will be Brother David Worthington, with Randy Riley assisting. Interment will follow at Forest Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday, October 22, 2000 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

    Mr. Fielder passed on Thursday, October 19, 2000 at Willis Knighton Medical Center following a lengthy illness. Mr. Fielder was born in Carthage, TX and was a lifelong resident in the area. Mr. Fielder was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the European theater during WWII. He was foreman with the Cotton Holsum Bakery. Maynard was a loving and devoted husband, father, family man and church member.

    He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary Fielder of Shreveport, one son, Raymond Fielder of New York, one daughter, Deborah Fielder Merrifield and husband Robert of Los Angeles, CA, two grandchildren, Matthew and Amanda Merrifield, mother, Eunice Whitley, one brother, Travis R. Whitley and wife Jan, one sister, Norma Jean Griffith, and a host of other family and friends.

    Pallbearers will be Mike Duggan, Frank Fielder, Stanley Fielder, Michael Gullo, Chuck Flynn, Travis Warner.
