    Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 17, 2003, at a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Catholic Church for Leo Joseph Trahan Sr., 88, who died Tuesday, July 15, 2003, in Crowley American Legion Hospital.

    Entombment will be in St. Joseph #2 Mausoleum.

    Survivors include his wife of fifty-three years, Leatrice Richard Trahan, of Rayne; one son, Leo Trahan, Jr. and his wife Gail; one grandson, Andrew "Andy"; one granddaughter, Brianna, all of Pascagoula, Miss.; and one sister, Delia Beaugh, of Church Point; and numerous nieces and nephews.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Emethile Credeur Trahan; and six brothers, Eddie, Dennis, Emile, Ursin, Edmond and Irby.

    He was a master carpenter working for Rayne Lumber Yard, and a volunteer fireman with Rayne Fire Department since 1958 and a member of Knights of Columbus. He was a veteran of WWII, serving as a airplane mechanic as a Staff Sgt. in the U.S. Air Force in Texas and Japan. He was interviewed numerous times by the compilers of books on the Cajun French language for his extensive knowledge of the Cajun language, and is cited as such in Tonnerre Mes Chiens by Amanda LaFleur. He was instrumental in helping his niece Phoebe Trotter translate Floyd Sonnier book, From Small Bits Of Charcoal.

    A rosary was recited at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday.

    The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 6:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, and from 8:00 a.m. until time of services Thursday.

    Arrangements have been entrusted to Gossen Funeral Home Inc. of Rayne.

    Leatrice Richard Trahan

    Rayne - Funeral services will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Saturday, December 20, 2014 at 11:00 Mass of Christian Burial for Leatrice Richard Trahan, 90, who died Thursday, December 11, 2014 in Acadia St. Landry Guest Home in Church Point, LA.

    Interment will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery #2, Rayne, LA.

    Reverend Kendall Faulk, Pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne, LA will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services.

    Survivors include one son, Leo Joseph Trahan, Jr. and wife Gail of Moss Point, MS, one grandson, Andrew J. Trahan, one granddaughter, Brianna Trahan Walter and husband Christian, one sister-in-law, Delia Beaugh.

    She was preceded in death by husband, Leo Joseph Trahan, Sr., parents, Rene' Richard and Marie Boudreaux Richard, one sister, Earnestine Petitjean and husband C.J..

    She was a member of the Catholic Daughters and Ladies Altar Society with St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne, LA.

    She worked a long time for Mervin Kahn Department Store in Rayne, LA

    Friends will be received at Gossen Funeral Home, Inc., Rayne, LA Saturday, December 20, 2014 from 9:30 am until 10:30 am.

    Funeral services were held at 9 a.m. today in the St. Michael Catholic Church for Rene "Boone" Richard, 77, who died on a rural road in Acadia Parish Sunday. Burial was held in the Woodlawn Cemetery.

    Survivors include his widow, the former Ellen Chandler of Crowley, three daughters, Mrs. Leo Trahan of Rayne, Mrs. C.J. Petitjean of New Iberia, and Mrs. Sue Harbour of Crowley; four brothers, E.P. Richard, Joseph Richard and J.B. Richard of Crowley, and Wilton Richard of Lafayette; three sisters, Mrs. Joe Hains of Baton Rouge, Mrs. J.B. Gaspard and Mrs. Milton Abshire of Lake Charles, and four grandchildren.

    Funeral Services For Mrs. Renee Richard Will Be Held Today

    Funeral services will be held at 5 o'clock Friday afternoon at St. Joseph Catholic church in Rayne for Mrs. Renee Richard, nee Boudreaux, 35 years of age who died at St. Mary's hospital in Rayne at 6:10 p.m. Thursday. Interment will be made in the Rayne Catholic cemetery.

    Mrs. Richard, who was a native of Rayne and had lived there all her life, had been ill three months.

    Pallbearers will be Ernest J. Boudreaux, E.P. Richard, Joe Wilks, and J.B. Richard.

    Surviving are her husband, two daughters, Leatrice and Ernestine, and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Laurent Boudreaux.

    Arrangements were in charge of the Geesey-Ferguson funeral home in Rayne.

    Laurent Boudreaux, Ex-Local Volunteer Fire Chief, Dies

    Laurent Boudreaux, former Rayne Volunteer Firemen's Association chief and charter member of the organization, died Monday at 3 p.m. at his local residence after an apparent heart attack.

    Boudreaux, 82, joined the Rayne Volunteer Fire Association when it was formed in 1904, served at one time as chief, and was the oldest living member of the organization when he retired last year.

    Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the St. Joseph Catholic Church.

    Burial followed in the church cemetery.

    Members of the Rayne Volunteer Firemen's Association served as pallbearers, and the body was transported to the Church for the service.

    Mrs. Boudreaux Services Held Monday

    Funeral services for Mrs. Marie Adeline Boudreaux, 88, widow of the late Laurent J. Boudreaux, were held at 2:30 p.m. Monday from St. Joseph Catholic Church.

    Burial followed in the St. Joseph Cemetery, with Gossen Funeral Home directing arrangement.

    Mrs. Boudreaux died at 10:45 p.m. Saturday, December 15, at the Rayne-Branch Hospital following a recent illness.

    Native of Acadia Parish, she had spent most of her lifetime in Rayne, residing at 600 Second Street for many years. She was a loved mother and housewife, her home, her family and her church filling her life with much comfort and happiness.

    She is survived by one son, Ernest J. Boudreaux of Bunkie, La., 3 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and one great, great grandchild.
