    LAFAYETTE - Services for James J. Daigle will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Martin and Castille with the Rev. Bennett J. Voorhies officiating. Burial will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.

    Daigle, 69, of Lafayette died at 4:08 a.m. Saturday in his residence.

    He was a native and lifelong resident of Lafayette. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and retired as a lieutenant colonel. He served as ex-commander of the American POWs. He was a member of the American Legion Post 69, VFW Post 203 and Disabled American Veterans. He was also a member of the Woodmen of the World, Golden Age Club, the Greenhouse, National Association of Retired Federal Employees, AARP and the American Postal Workers Union.

    Survivors include his wife, Juanita Toussel Daigle of Lafayette; one daughter, Susan Savant of Brusly; three sons, Michael J. Daigle and Juan P. Daigle, both of Lafayette, and Maj. Patrick J. Daigle of Dayton, Ohio; one sister, Mary Borel of Austin, Texas; four brothers, Richard Daigle of El Paso, Texas, Jack Daigle and Thomas Daigle, both of Lafayette, and Frank Daigle of New Orleans; and nine grandchildren.

    Funeral services will be held Monday at a 2 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial in the Martin and Castille Funeral Home Chapel for James J. Daigle, 69, who died Saturday, Jan. 18, 1992 at 4:06 a.m. at his residence in Lafayette.

    Interment will be in the Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.

    The Rev. Bennett J. Voorhies, Pastor, St. Patrick Catholic Church, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the services.

    Survivors include his wife, Juanita Toussel Daigle of Lafayette; one daughter, Mrs. Aaron "Susan" Savant of Brusly; three sons, Michael J. Daigle, M.D. and Juan P. Daigle, both of Lafayette, and Major Patrick J. Daigle M.D. of Wright Patterson A.F.B., Dayton, Ohio; nine grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Leo (Mary) Borel of Austin, Texas; and four brothers, Richard Daigle of El Paso, Texas, Jack Daigle and Brother Thomas Daigle, both of Lafayette, and Frank Daigle of New Orleans. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Charles Daigle and John Harry Daigle.

    A native and lifelong resident of Lafayette, Mr. Daigle was the son of the late Frank Daigle and the former Laura LeBlanc, both natives of Broussard.

    He was a veteran of military service having retired as a Lt. Col. with the United States Air Force and served as ex commander of the American P.O.W.'s.

    Mr. Daigle was a member of the American Legion Post #69, the V.F.W. #203 and the Disabled American Veterans as well as the Woodmen of the World, the Golden Age Club, the Greenhouse, the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, the A.A.R.P. and the American Postal Workers Union.

    A rosary will be recited Sunday at 6:30 p.m. in the funeral home.

    The Family requests that visiting hours be observed from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. Sunday and from 8 a.m. until time of services Monday.

    Pallbearers are members of England Air Force Base. Honorary pallbearers are Aaron J. Savant, Jonathan E. Daigle, Joshua P. Daigle, Jeremy P. Daigle, Christopher Daigle and Nicholas Daigle.

    Martin and Castille Funeral Home is in charge of funeral arrangements.

    Funeral Services will be held Monday, October 2, 2006 at a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille for Mrs. Juanita Daigle, age 82, the former Juanita B. Toussel, who passed away Thursday, September 28, 2006 at her residence in Lafayette.

    Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.

    Reverend Chester Arceneaux , Pastor of Our Lady of Wisdom Catholic Church will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the Funeral Services. Jodi Bollich, organist, will sing for the services, "Ave Maria", "The Wind Beneath My Wings", "Here I Am, Lord" and "On Eagles'' Wings".

    Survivors include one daughter, Susan Ann Daigle Savant; three sons, Michael James Daigle M.D., Juan Paul Daigle and Patrick Joseph Daigle, CDR, M.D.; ten grandchildren, Jonathan E., Shalon Ann, Kimberly Lynn, Nicolas Sebastian, Destiny Chance, Joshua Patrick, Jeremy Paul, Patrick Christopher Daigle, Alexis Brook Savant and Debbie Powers; six great grandchildren, Robert & Meadow Suzanne Battles, Taylor, Bethany & Avery Rene Daigle and Emma Grace Caspari; and numerous nieces and nephews.

    She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James "Jimmy" Joseph Paul Daigle; her loving parents, Louis Gaston Toussel and Susanna Belinda Walter; grandparents, Annie Benford and Alfred Benjamin Walter and Marie Meuller and Amant Toussel; one sister, Anne Marie Toussel Hartsell, three brothers, Edward James, Irvin Harrell and Alfred Benjamin "Pemon" Toussel; and one grandson Jacob Perry Daigle.

    A native and lifelong resident of Lafayette, Mrs. Daigle was a faithful parishioner of Our Lady of Wisdom Catholic Church in Lafayette. She was a member of Woodmen of the World, Golden Age, The Greenhouse and St. Monica''s Ladies Society. Mrs. Daigle was a lifetime member of the American Ex-Prisoners of War and also a past Vice Commander of the Disabled Veterans of America. She was a very sweet and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be deeply missed by everyone.

    A Rosary will be prayed Sunday at 7:00 PM in the Martin & Castille Funeral Home in Lafayette.

    The family requests that visiting hours be observed Saturday from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM, Sunday from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM and will continue Monday morning from 8:00 AM until time of the Funeral Mass.

    Pallbearers will be Patrick Joseph Daigle, Joshua Patrick Daigle, Jeremy Paul Daigle, Jonathan E. Daigle, Nicolas Sebastian Daigle and Aaron Savant.

    Honorary pallbearers are Patrick Christopher Daigle, SPC and Robert Battles, Jr.

    Funeral services will be held at St. John's Cathedral tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. for Frank Daigle Sr., 61, who died at his residence in Lafayette yesterday at 1:15 p.m.

    Interment will be in St. John's cemetery.

    Survivors include his widow, the former Lena Deshotel of Lafayette; one daughter, Mrs. Leo Borel of Lake Charles; seven sons: Rev. Brother Cecil Thomas, F. S.     Recitation of the Rosary by the K of C. Council 1286 is scheduled at 8:30 p.m. Robert J. Guchereau of the First National Funeral home is in charge of arrangements.

    The deceased was a retired rural mail carrier and a member of the Lafayette Council No. 1286 K of C. and the Holy Name Society of the Cathedral parish.

    Mrs. Frank Daigle Dies in Lafayette

    Mrs. Frank Daigle, the former Laura LeBlanc, 56, died at a local infirmary Monday, 9:45 p.m. after an extended illness. The remains are resting at the First National Funeral home.

    Funeral services are to be held tomorrow, 9:30 a.m., at the Catherdal of St. John the Evangelist at a Requiem Mass, followed by interment in St. John's Catholic cemetery.

    The deceased, a native of Lafayette parish, was the daughter of the late Clet LeBlanc and Azena Vincent, pioneer settlers of the Broussard community.

    Survivors are her husband, retired rural mail carrier of this city; one daughter, Mary Helen Daigle of this city; seven sons, Rev. Brother Thomas, of St. Paul's College, Covington, La., Charles Daigle of Barksdale Field, Shreveport; John Harry Daigle, James Daigle, Frank Daigle, Jr., Richard Daigle, and Jack Daigle, all of Lafayette.

    Three sisters, Mrs. Pierre Landry, Mrs. M. Doucet and Mrs. Lillian Tanner, all of Lafayette; two brothers, Albert LeBlanc of Port Arthur, Texas, C.J. LeBlanc of Scott; and two grandchildren also survive.

    Funeral arrangements were handled by Robert J. Guchereau of the First National Funeral Home.
