    Obituary:

    Debbie Darlene McCartney Palmos, 67, of Hearne entered into the kingdom of heaven on Friday, May 15, 2020, after a brief battle with cancer. A Celebration of Life Tribute will be held at a later time. Arrangements are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral and Cremation Centers, Bryan-College Station.

    Debbie was born on June 2, 1952, in Bryan, Texas to Oliver Charles McCartney and Iris Small McCartney. After graduating from Stephen F. Austin High School, Debbie attended Charles and Sue's School of Hair Design, which started her on a long and varied work career that allowed her to become friends with many of those she came in contact with. Besides being a talented beautician and nail technician, she was a bookkeeper, banking clerk, certified travel agent, real estate agent, and permanent makeup artist. Her talents and interests were many.

    Debbie was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, Forrest Bedford and Zula Small, Maudie Mae McCartney and Oliver Wood McCartney; and her in-laws, Demetre and Nadine Palmos.

    Survivors include her loving husband of 33 years, Tom Palmos; son, Sonny Alan Holligan and wife Karen; sister, Sherry McCartney; brother and sister-in-law, Forrest (Bubba) and Estela McCartney; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Sam and Carolyn Lampo; sister-in-law, Marilyn Geyer; brother-in-law, James Palmos; grandchildren, Cole, Kendal Price, Jaycee Fojt, and Wyatt Fojt; great-grandchild, Baylee Price and many nieces and nephews.

    Obituary:

    Byron Holligan, 90, from Bryan, Texas, passed away on September 22, 2016. He was born June 27, 1926 in Bryan, Texas to Alva and Julia Holligan.

    After serving our country and world in the Navy during World War II, Byron married Cathy (German) August 25, 1947, and was employed at the Bryan and College Station Postal Service for 39 years as well as the Texas A&M Veterinary College for 21 years.

    He is survived by the love of his life, Cathy; two sons, Kenneth, Brad (and wife Ila); grandsons, Sonny, Matt, Judson and Brazos; and great- grandchildren, Cole, Madison, Kara, Cale, Kolin, Blake and Koy.

    Byron was a member of Central Baptist Church in College Station. His Alzheimers and cancer care will always be remembered by the proficient care of B/CS Angels, 404 S. Haswell Drive, Bryan, Texas.

    A bedside memorial service was attended by family and special friends prior to his cremation. Cards and condolences to the family will be greatly appreciated at Hillier Funeral Home.

    Mattie Ella Kaechele

    Mattie Ella Kaechele, 82, of 806 Fairview in College Station died in Bryan on Friday.

    Services wll be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Hillier Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Owens officiating. Burial will be in Wellborn Cemetery.

    Mrs. Kaechele, born in Oren, had lived in Brazos County 71 years. She was a retired nurse, a homemaker. a member of American Legion Auxiliary in Bryan and a member of Second Baptist Church in College Station.

    Survivors include two sons, Fletcher German Jr. of College Station, Sam German of Thompsonville. Ill.: four daughters, Gladys Koerth of San Antonio, Kathy Holligan of Bryan, Elizabeth Plagens of Somerville, Mary Lois Huckaby of Bryan; a brother, Albert Warren of College Station; a sister, Tennie Dowling McDonald of Bryan; 21 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
