JoAda N. Buford 76 of Jasper died at Shady Acres Nursing Home in Newton, TX. Thursday May 23, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday May 25, 2013 at Forest Oaks Chapel with private burial at the West Oaks Cemetery in Jasper, TX. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A native of Port Arthur, TX. she was a resident of Jasper since 1984 after moving here from Mauriceville, TX. Survivors include her husband W.N. "Blue" Buford of Jasper, TX. sons Willard N. Buford of N. Carolina and Phil N. Buford of Jasper, TX. a daughter Tina Buford of Bridge City, TX. Five grandchildren and Two great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Ebenezer Baptist Church Rt. 3 Box 686 Jasper, TX. 75951.

GROVES - Claude Talbot, 74, died Saturday at Gaspard's Nursing Home in Port Arthur.

He was a native of Rayne, La., and longtime resident of Port Arthur. He was a retired asbestos worker.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Survivors include his wife, Versie Talbot of Mauriceville; a daughter, Mrs. Willard Buford of Mauriceville; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Versie Talbot, 76, of Mauriceville, died Thursday, May 31 at her residence after an illness. Services will be Today at 2 P.M. at Clayton-Thompson Funeral Home Groves Chapel with Rev. Glenn Landry officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Port Arthur. Mrs. Talbot is a native of Pecan Island, Louisiana and lived in the Port Arthur area for 60 years before moving to Mauriceville 10 years ago. She is survived by her daughter, Jo Ada Buford of Jasper, her son-in-lawn, Willard Buford of Jasper, one brother, J.L. Roberts, Jr. of Woodville; five sisters, Hazel Badock of Nederland; Mildred Davidson of Beaumont; Audrey Tibbits, Mamie Cantrell, Gloria Ardoin all of Bridge City; three grandchildren, Willard Buford, Jr., Tina Wallace, Phil Buford; five great-grandchildren, Carla Buford, Kasey Buford, Mandy Fregia, Ricky Garza, Lacy Jaye Wallace.
