    Obituary:

Services Held Sunday For Loved Mother

Widely attended funeral services were held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday in St. Joseph Church for Mrs. Lelia Boudreaux Moore, 76, lifelong resident of Rayne and member of a prominent early family of the Community, Rev. Eugene Tremie officiated during the last rites.

Entombment followed in the Mausoleum in the new St. Joseph cemetery, with Gossen Funeral Home directing arrangements.

Pallbearers included Louis Johnson, Louis Boudreaux, Harold David, Caliste Beard, Wilbur Kilchrist and Sidney Guidry.

Mrs. Moore died at 12:25 a.m. Saturday at the Winnie Medical Center in Winnie, Texas, after a lengthy illness. She was stricken 19 months ago, and was taken to the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Devillier, in Winnie, where she had been receiving all the loving care and attention possible from her dear daughter and family. She had been a complete invalid throughout that time.

She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Sylvestre Boudreaux, one of Rayne's most-loved couples, and had made her home with them during the latter part of their lives, caring for them and sharking their deep affection.

She was active until her last illness, keeping her home, and remaining in close touch with family and friends whom she cherished so deeply.

To those who knew her best, she was a sincere and devoted person - one whom her friends could always count - loyal and always ready to help and share with those about her.

We had known and loved Lelia dearly through may years of friendship, and we join in the expressions of sincerest sympathy being voiced today to those who are so deeply grieved by her passing.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Edgar (Dorothy) Devillier of Winnie, Texas; three grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
