Obituary:

LONGVIEW - A viewing for Rickey Lynn Kimbrough, 55, of Longview, will be held from 2-4 p.m. Friday, August 10, 2018 at East Texas Funeral Home?s North Longview Chapel. Rickey passed away August 8, 2018.

Born March, 29, 1963, in Port Author, Texas, Rickey grew up in Houston, attended Ellison High School in Killeen, lived in Hawaii, and finally made his home in Longview. Rickey considered himself a true cowboy troubadour, and his favorite country music artist was George Strait. He never met a stranger and made friends wherever he went.

Rickey was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Kimbrough.

He is survived by his wife, Crystal Kimbrough; parents, Jimmy and June Stinson; son, Rickey Jr and wife Susie Kimbrough with granddaughters, Sarah and Kelsey; daughter, Kasey Kimbrough of Tyler; sons, John, David and Phillip Thompson; sister, Teresa and husband Bobby Cosper of Longview, brother, Dennis and wife Debbie Kimbrough of Longview; sister, Angie and husband Cody Boyd of Longview; brother, Jason Kimbrough of Cleveland, TX; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

To know Rickey was to love him. He was truly one of a kind - a rare breed of cowboy and the smoothest country dancer. If he were here today, he would say "What's really goin' on?"

Fannette) was born 2 Sep 1961, Navasota, Grimes County, Texas, USA; died 15 Jul 2001, Tyler, Smith County, Texas, USA; was buried 18 Jul 2001, Peach Creek Cemetery - College Station, Texas, USA.
