    Weldon (Gene) Brothers, 47, of Roxton died Wednesday, July 18, 2001, at McCuistion Regional Medical Center. Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 21, at First United Methodist Church in Roxton with the Rev. John Edwards officiating. Bright-Holland Funeral Home will make burial in Restland Cemetery at Roxton. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Mr. Brothers was born Jan. 28, 1954, in Limestone, Maine to Buford W. and Glenna Moree Brothers. He was a mechanic and a member of the Methodist Church. Surviving are his mother; one sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and Jim Cox; and aunts and uncles, Donnie and Lee Brown, J. R. and Annie Moree and Carlton and Mary Moree. He was preceded in death by his father, Buford Brothers.

    B.W. Brothers Rites Monday

    Services for M. Sgt. Buford Weldon Brothers, 40, a native of Seymour, who died unexpectedly Monday in an Air Force base hospital in the Philippines, was held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Church of Christ here.

    Leslie Mickey, Colorado City Church of Christ minister, officiated. Burial was in Riverview Cemetery with military graveside rites. Arrangements were under the direction of Elliston-Archer Funeral Home.

    Brothers was born March 27, 1929, in Seymour. He was a veteran of 19 years in the services.

    Survivors include his wife; a son, Eugene, and a daughter, Deborah, both of the home; two brothers, J.W. of Wichita Falls and Orval of Seymour; two sisters, Delta Mae Brothers and Pauline Brothers, both of Seymour; and his mother, Mrs. J.B. Brothers of Seymour.

    Glenna J. Brothers, 67, of Roxton died Sunday, April 14, 2002 at her home at which time Bright-Holland Funeral Home received her into their care. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, April 19, 2002 at the First Methodist Church in Roxton with the Rev. John Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in Restland Cemetery.

    The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 18 at the funeral home.

    She was born May 26, 1934 in Baylor County, the daughter of Albert Houston and Ina Lorine Robertson Moree. She married Buford Weldon Brothers in 1950. He preceded her in death in 1969. She attended the Church of Christ and was a beautician.

    Survivors include her daughter, Debbie Cox and husband Jim of Roxton; one sister, Donnie Brown and husband Lee of Roxton; and two brothers, J.R. Moree and wife Annie of Wichita Falls and Carlton Moree and wife Mary of Roxton.

    She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Gene Brothers.

    Casket bearers will be Chris Calisto, Stanley Rutherford, David Rutherford, O.J. Rutherford, Jon Rutherford and Waylon Cherry Rutherford.

    SEYMOUR - Funeral for John Buford Brothers, 73, was to be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Seymour Church of Christ with Leslie Mickey, minister, officiating, assisted by Bob Pohlman, Goree Church of Christ minister. Burial was to be in Riverview Cemetery under direction of Elliston Funeral Home.

    Mr. Brothers died at 5:10 p.m. Tuesday at Baylor County Hospital after an illness of four days. He had been a resident of Baylor County for the past 59 years, where he worked as a shoe cobbler.

    Born Nov. 24, 1891 in Temple, he married Sadie Ethel Beavers in Baylor County, April 4, 1915. He was an elder in the Church of Christ here.

    Survivors include his wife; three sons, J. W. of Wichita Falls, Weldon of Albuquerque, N.M., and Orval of Seymour; two daughters, Miss Delta Mae Brothers and Miss Pauline Brothers, both of Seymour; two brothers, Sam and Bernie, both of Fort Worth; one sister, Mrs. T. R. Nix of Seymour; and two grandchildren.

    Mrs. Brothers Rites October 18

    Funeral services for Mrs. J.B. Brothers were held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 18, in the Church of Christ with Paul Epps, Minister, officiating.

    Mrs. Brothers died at 3:35 a.m. October 17 in the Seymour Hospital after a lengthy illness.

    Pallbearers were nephews, Lonnie Gross of Andrews, Robert Nix of Munday, Eidsel Brothers of Fort Worth, Charles Beaver of Wichita Falls, Robert Brothers and Loyd King of Seymour.

    Burial was in Riverview Cemetery under the direction of Elliston - Archer Funeral Home.

    Sadie Ethel Beaver was born to Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Beaver April 22, 1892 in Erath County. She became a member of the Church of Christ at an early age. The Beaver family came to Baylor County in 1905. She married John B. Brothers, who died in 1965, April 22, 1915. To this union was born three sons, J.W. (Jake) of Wichita Falls, Orval of Seymour, Weldon who died in the Philippine Islands in 1969, Two daughters, Delta Mae and Pauline of Seymour.

    Also surviving are a brother Sam Beaer of Seymour, Two sisters Mrs. Ada Brothers of Wichita Falls and Mrs. Ida King of Texas City, Two grandchildren also survive - Deborah Cox of Paris, Texas and Eugene of San Angelo.

    Many pleasant memories are left behind by the life and example she lived. She lived for God, the Church, her family and friends.
