HAROLD "GORDON" REID, 74, died April 20, 2005 after a brief battle with leukemia. Gordon was born on August 15, 1930 in Toronto, Canada, of Vera Margaret and Harold James Reid. Gordon was publisher of Oilweek Magazine in Calgary, Alberta, Canada for 22 years before retiring to Houston in 1993. He graduated from Victoria College, U of T, in 1953 and was very proud of his volunteer work with the Calgary XV Olympic Winter Games in 1988. Gordon is survived by his wife and soul mate of 15 1/2 years, Kim Yelton, of Houston, and his loving family Carolyn Kremer, Douglas and Kim Reid, Jo-Anne and Garth Brownell and Jennifer and Graham Reid-Symcox and his 8 grandchildren all of Calgary. Gordon's was an adventurous soul and his sense of humor kept everyone around him laughing up until the very end. He was a true gentleman and his love of life was equaled by his courage in death. Those desiring to memorialize Gordon should donate blood regularly. Gordon asked that a "farewell party" be hosted in Calgary.
