    H. John LeBlanc

    H. John LeBlanc, 71, of 707 E. Pershing Ave. in College Station died Friday in a local hospital.

    Masonic graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today at College Station City Cemetery. Dr. Bruce Fisher, pastor of A&M Presbyterian Church, will officiate.

    LeBlanc was born in Rayne, La. and lived in College Station for 23 years. He was a retired air traffic controller. LeBlanc was a member of the Brazos Valley Shrine Club, an adviser of the Brazos Valley De Molay, and a 32nd-degree Mason in the Brazos Union Masonic Lodge, No. 129 AF&AM. He served in the Air Force and was a Baptist.

    Survivors include his wife, Margaret LeBlanc of College Station; a daughter, Cherie LeBlanc of College Station; a sister, Genevieve Davis of San Antonio; and a grandson, Brian LeBlanc of College Station.

    Memorials may be made to the Brazos Valley De Molay or the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 802 of the Arrowmoon District.

    Margaret Elsie (Houston) LeBlanc, 94, went to be with the Lord on the morning of February 15, 2013 surrounded by her loved ones at home in College Station, Texas.

    Margaret was born on August 14, 1918 in Shreveport, La., to Lonnie Houston and Ada Lillian Bumgardner, the youngest of 5 children. Her mother passed away when Margaret was only 14 months old. As a kid, Margaret spent a lot of time outdoors, playing shinny, or street hockey, and playing with paper dolls. She loved reading and being read to. Margaret graduated from C.E. Byrd High School of Shreveport in 1936 and was a homemaker. Shortly after, Margaret met her husband Howard J. LeBlanc in Shreveport and they married December 23, 1939. They had their only daughter, Cherie, in 1946. Howard was an air traffic controller, often moving around with his work. Margaret and Howard moved to Puerto Rico in 1958 and then to College Station, Texas in 1961. Her grandson, Brian, was born shortly after. Howard passed away in 1984, leaving her daughter to care for her. With the birth of her great-grandson in 1993, Margaret sought to take care of him while Cherie was at work, providing lots of love and care. Family meant the world to her.

    She is preceded in death by her father, Lonnie Houston; mother, Ada Bumgardner Houston; brothers Francis Nevel Houston and Lonnie Gordon Houston; sisters Sybil Houston Goodgion, Verlie Houston Fletcher, and Viola Houston; and her husband of 45 years Howard John LeBlanc.

    Survivors include one daughter, Cherie LeBlanc of College Station, Texas; one grandson, Brian LeBlanc of Queen Creek, Ariz.; one great-grandson, Cody LeBlanc of College Station; nieces, Patsy Beck of Denton, Texas, Sybil Clarke of Shreveport, La., and Nancy Mook of New Orleans, La.; one nephew, Nevel Houston Ehrhardt, and a host of wonderful friends and neighbors.

    With heartfelt gratitude, the family expresses their deep appreciation to Dr. Adel Massoud and the College Station Medical Center staff, along with Brazos Valley Hospice.

    Per her request, Margaret's body is to be donated to the Texas A&M Medical School. There will be no funeral service. Any donations may be made to Brazos Valley Hospice.

    Clebert LeBlanc Expires in Rayne

    RAYNE, La. - Clebert Joseph LeBlanc, 74, retired Southern Pacific railroad section foreman, died at 3:05 p.m. Sunday in the Rayne Branch hospital following an illness of three weeks.

    Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Rayne Baptist Church and burial will follow in the Masonic Cemetery in Lafayette. Until the hour of rites the body will remain at the Gossen Funeral Home here.

    Mr. LeBlanc had been a resident of Rayne for 55 years. He and his wife had celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last Spring. Mr. LeBlanc was a past master of Rayne Lodge 313, Free and Able Masons. He was also a member of the Scottish Rites Temple, and was active in the work of the Baptist Church.

    Surviving are his wife, the former Marie LeBleu; two sons, Howard of College Station, Tex., and Robert LeBlanc of Port Allen; two daughters, Mrs. W. W. Bremer of Galena Park, Tex., and Mrs. Harry Davis of Selfridge Air Force Base, Mich.; three sisters, Mrs. Pierre Landry, Mrs. Lillian Tanner, and Mrs. M. Doucet, all of Lafayette; and four grandchildren.

    Rayne Rites for Mrs. C. LeBlanc

    RAYNE, La. - Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. today for Mrs. Clebert LeBlanc, 81, the former Marie LeBleu, in the chapel of the Gossen Funeral Home here. Burial followed in the Masonic Cemetery in Lafayette.

    Mrs. LeBlanc, a native of Rayne, died Sunday in Bryan, Tex.

    Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Walter Bremer of Wimberly, Tex., and Mrs. Harry Davis of Mt. Clemens, Mich.; two sons, Howard LeBlanc of Bryan and Robert LeBlanc of Freeport, Tex.; a sister, Mrs. Laurent Boudreaux of Rayne; five grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.

    Lonnie Houston Funeral Friday

    Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday from Osborne's Funeral Chapel for Lonnie Houston, 73, 1860 De Soto St., who died in a local hospital early Wednesday following a long illness.

    Mr. Houston was a retired roofing contractor and had been a local resident for the past 30 years.

    He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Eunice Houston; seven daughters, Mrs. Sibyl Goodgion, Mrs. Margaret LeBlanc, Mrs. Lucy Perkins, Mrs. Carolyn Hermes and Mrs. Esther Beeman, all of Shreveport, Mrs. Verlie Fletcher, Houston, Tex., and Mrs. Elaine Robinette, Los Angeles, Calif.; one son, L. G. Houston, Montgomery, Ala.; three brothers, I. N. Houston, Vesta Houston, of Shreveport, and Lee Houston, of Sarepta; three sisters, Mrs. Ruth Hodges, of Shreveport, Mrs. Grace Pugh and Mrs. Gertie Cochran of Sarepta; and 13 grandchildren.

    Services will be conducted by the Rev. T. C. Pennell, pastor of Ingleside Baptist Church assisted by the assistant pastor, the Rev. Ted Corbett. Burial will be in Forest Park Cemetery.

    Pallbearers will be Earl Houston, Johnnie Moore, Carl Maurer, Frank Beeman, Otis Perkins and Wayne Hermes.

    Mrs. L. Houston died Saturday of last week at her home in Shreveport, death resulting from an attack of influenza. She leaves a widower and five young children.
