    • Obituary:

      GALVESTON - Mr. Lester Edward Schott, age 90, expired at his house on June 24, 1996. Mr. Schott was born in Halletsville, Texas, on March 5, 1906, moved to Galveston in 1927, and worked for the W.L. Moody Bank. After 45 years, he retired, still young at the age of 65. Lester's former employers talked him out of retirement. He worked another seven and one half years for Moody National Bank.

      Lester was preceded in death by his parents, Anna and Frederick; two brothers, Melvin and Carl; and two sisters, Josephine Booth and Anne Burns.

      He is survived by his wife Lily; one son, James and his wife Sharon of Texas City; one daughter, Mildred and her husband Raymond Zorn of Galveston; two grandchildren, David of Springfield, Virginia, and Daniel Zorn of Conroe.

      Lester and Lily have twelve grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. His step-children are Patsy Mount and her husband Jerry of Galveston; Albert Choate and wife Janet of Galveston; Barbara Gaddis and her husband Bob of Fort Worth; and Otto Yelton of Houston.

      Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, 1996, at J. Levy & Bro. Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 27, 1996, at 10:00 a.m., at the First Lutheran Church; with Pastor David Hoh officiating. Interment will follow at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery in Hitchcock.

      Pallbearers will be Dinty Stevens, Don Stevens, Leo Chide, Mike Schott, Joe Neely, Robert Gaddis and John Gaddis. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Burgess, Douglas Lee, Walter Burns and Douglas McLeod.

      Mr. Schott's family would like to thank Dr. Jamie Newman and Dr. Jerry Mount for their care and concern.
