      James Earl Allen
      July 21, 1946 - January 30, 2024

James Earl Allen, better known as Stick, of Riverside, Texas passed away on January 30th, 2024. Stick had been battling liver cancer and cirrhosis.

He was born on July 21st, 1946, to the late Woodrow and Anja Allen in Waxahachie, Texas. The family moved to the Houston area where he would join the US Air Force in 1963 and take part in the Vietnam War efforts from Thailand. He spent years as an electrician, owned his own CB shop and became an over the road truck driver later in life. He would retire from that profession and settle down in Redskin Ridge in Riverside, Texas, where he has lived since 1984.

When he wasn't traveling for work, he could be found on the back of his Harley, running around making some of the best BBQ and beef jerky in the area. He was proud of his award winning bloody marys and had many friends in the area that he loved to play darts with, listen to music, sing karaoke, dance, and have drinks. He always enjoyed being around people and telling fun stories and making people laugh.

Stick is preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow and Anja, as well as his brother, Eddie. He is survived by his children, Kurk, Shellie, Christy, Jamie and Scott. His sister, Shirley Hannaford and his brother, Gerald Wayne along with many grandchildren, nieces and nephews across Texas and Oklahoma.

Services for James "Stick" Allen will be held on March 2nd, at 11:00am at Waller-Thornton Funeral Home Chapel at 203 San Jacinto St. in Trinity, TX 75862. Reception to follow at Riverway Bar & Grill at 4544 TX-19 from 12:30-3:30pm

He will then be laid to rest in the Houston National Veterans Cemetery.
