  Obituary: Nathaniel Thomas Helms ODESSA - Nathaniel "Nat" Thomas Helms, 49, a self-employed welder, died Friday, July 30, 1993, at Medical Center Hospital. Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Odessa Tabernacle with the Rev. Sam Jordan officiating. The family will receive visitors at 1803 W. 18th (332-1822). Burial will be at Andrews Cemetery. Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors is handling the funeral arrangements. Mr. Helms, was born on November 23, 1943, in Memphis, Tex. On June 14, 1961, he married Claudia Gross in Dallas. Mr. Helms moved to Odessa from Andrews in 1969. He was a Baptist. Survivors include his wife, Claudia Helms of Odessa; daughter, Natalie Helms of Odessa; son, Douglas Helms of Midland; father, H.M. Helms of Edger Springs, Mo.; four brothers, James Helms of Odessa, Johnny and Estes Helms, both of Andrews, Earl Don Helms of Houston; two sisters, Lillie May Chapman of Edger Springs, Mo. and Estelee Harvill of Weatherford; four grandchildren.
