    • Obituary:

Gerald Lee Green lost his 2 ½ year battle with cancer, but he has won the Victory!

Gerald began his life here on this earth on January 12, 1944, and went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 15, 2019. He is now in the presence of our Heavenly Father.

Gerald was born in Shreveport, Louisiana to parents, Cecil and Mabel Green. He grew up in Shreveport, and graduated from C.E. Byrd High School in 1962. He later graduated from Louisiana Tech in Ruston, Louisiana in 1968 with a degree in Accounting. After graduation from college, he was drafted into the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was one of the lucky ones, being stationed in Turkey, working in Accounting and Finance because of his college degree. He later decided to make the Army a career.

Gerald retired from the U. S. Army in 1994 after 26 years of service, and retired at the rank of E-9, Sergeant Major. He was stationed in Turkey, Thailand, Georgia ad Germany, and ended his military career here in San Antonio. He served his country well!

After retiring from the Army, Gerald worked for Red McComb car dealership in accounting and finance for 18 years.

Gerald was predeceased by his parents, and infant brother, Dale Edward Green.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife Lumduan (Pen) of 44 years; 3 sons, Gerald Lee Green Jr (wife Laura), Carl Edward Green, and Det Green; and one daughter Kimberly Nicole (Nikki) Green; sister Celia Ann Green Gallagher; 6 grandchildren, Jeremy, Justen, Emily, Minna, Andrew, and Maddie; and several cousins.

Gerald will be interred at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Tx on October 30, 2019, with full military honors. Gone from our sight, but never our memories -Gone from our touch, but never our hearts.
