  Obituary: Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Monday, August 1 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Kathleen "Kitty" Smith LeBlanc, who died Saturday, July 30 at Lafayette General Medical Center after a long illness of cancer. Interment took place in the Rayne Protestant Cemetery. Rev. Robert Burgess, pastor, Asbury United Methodist Church officiated. Mrs. LeBlanc was a native of Rayne, the daughter of the late Lee Smith and the former Erma Leaze Hoffpauir and had been a resident of Lafayette for the past six months. She was a retiree of Dow Chemical Company, Plaquemine. She was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church, Lafayette, where she worked with the Phoenix Sunday School Class and V.I.M. While she lived in Baton Rouge, she was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Baton Rouge. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Michael (Susan) Simmons of Lafayette; one sister, Eris Chachere of Shreveport, one brother, Oren Smith of Crowley; and one grandson, Chadwick Mercke of Lafayette. She was preceded in death by her husband, mother and father, six sisters and two brothers. Pallbearers were Michael Simmons, Chad Mercke, J.L. Hinckley, Michael McGrew, Stan Gegan and Ray Mercke.
