Rites set in Port Neches for Mrs. Lydia Betterton
BEAUMONT - Mrs. Lydia Betterton, 84, of 713 Marion street in Port Neches, died at 10 p.m. Tuesday at St. Elizabeth hospital in Beaumont.
A rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Sheffield Funeral home in Port Neches.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Elizabeth's Catholic church, with the Rev. P. H. Hickey officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn cemetery.
Mrs. Betterton was a native of Abbeville, La., and a 48-year resident of Port Neches.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Charles Holcomb of Texas City; four sisters, Mrs. Tom Faulk of Lake Charles, La., Mrs. Frank Martin of Franklin, La., Mrs. Eugene Gautreaux and Mrs. Henry Gautreaux, both of Abbeville; five brothers, Robert and Clet Butaud, both of Beaumont, Carl Butaud of Erath, La., and A. J. and L. J. Butaud, both of Abbeville.

Funeral rites were conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 22 in St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Port Neches, Texas for Mrs. Lydia Betterton, 84, a native of Abbeville, who died at 10 p.m. Tuesday, July 20 in St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, Texas. Reverend P.J. Hickey, pastor, conducted the funeral services. Burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Port Arthur, Texas.
She was the widow of the late W.H. Betteron of Port Neches, Texas.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Charles Holcomb of Texas City, Texas; five brothers, Robert and Clet Butaud of Beaumont, Texas, Paul Butaud of Erath; A.J. and L.J. Butaud of Abbeville, four sisters, Mrs. Tom Faulk of Lake Charles, Mrs. Frank Martin of Franklin, Mrs. Eugene Gautreaux and Mrs. Henry Gautreaux both of Abbeville; four grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
