RIGDON
Flour Bluff, Texas
Beloved father, uncle and friend John Henry Rigdon, of Flour Bluff, died Thursday, 10 June 2010. He was 74. John was the third of seven children, born 21 April 1936, in Cotton Valley Louisiana, to his parents, Charles and Nina Rigdon. John was a source of great humor and he enjoyed sharing stories with friends and family. He enjoyed all manner of recreation, including camping at the beach, boating and fishing, spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed music and partying. He was an accomplished cook.
John graduated from Cotton Valley High School, Louisiana and entered military service in the United States Air Force and retired from active duty after twenty years. John had a second career after moving to Corpus Christi Texas, working at Reynolds Metal Company where he retired after twenty years.
John is survived by his children Roberta Rigdon of Columbus Ohio and Danielle (Rodney) Berg, of Kailua Hawaii. Grandchildren Tristan, Timothy and Kayla. Sisters Martha (James) Keoun, Dena (Bill) Ambler and Mary Knochel. Nephews David Keoun, Donald Keoun, Timothy Gren, Philip Gren, Michael Kilpatrick, Mark Kilpatrick. Nieces Diane Lindell, Danyelle Meyer, Susan Kilpatrick.
John lived his life on his terms and he possessed a unique wisdom and personality. He delivered a wit and sarcasm that was very much his own.
