  Obituary: Elsie Nelson Bumgardner BOSSIER CITY, LA Services for Elsie Nelson Bumgardner will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, July 28, 1997 at Rose-Neath's Bossier Chapel. Officiating will be Dr. Damon Vaughn, pastor of Airline Baptist Church. Burial will be in Forest Park Cemetery. Funeral home visitation will be Sunday, July 27, 1997 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Mrs. Bumgardner was born December 16, 1911 in Kingston, LA to R. Clyde Nelson, Sr. and Edna Durham Nelson. She was a life long resident of Bossier City. Mrs. Bumgardner died Friday, July 25, 1997 at Willis-Knighton Bossier. She attended Centenary College and Northwestern State University. She was a retired teacher from the Bossier Parish School System after 30 years of service, a member of the Bossier Parish School Retired Teachers Association and a member of the Bossier City Mother's Club. She was a lifetime resident of Bossier Parish and a member of Airline Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry M. Bumgardner, Sr. and brother, Clyde Nelson, Jr. Survivors include, one son, H. Marvin Bumgardner, Jr. and wife, June of Arlington, TX; one sister, Mildred Dumas and husband, W. B. of Bossier City, LA; two brothers, Josey Nelson and wife, Gene of Bossier City, LA, Milton Nelson and wife, Det of Haughton, LA; two grandsons, Barry Bumgardner and wife, Shona of Arlington, TX and Brent Bumgardner of Arlington, TX. Pallbearers will be Bryan Dumas, Robert Dumas, Ashford Nelson, Brad Nelson, George Dement, Sherwood Searcy, Billy Richardson and Dewitt Patten. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. C. H. McCuller and Hal Boylston. Memorials may be made to Airline Baptist Church or charity of donor's choice.
