      Emmett James Ross Sr.

      Emmett James Ross Sr., 81, of Route 2, College Station died at a local hospital Wednesday morning.

      Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Memorial Funeral Chapel. The Rev. David Rowland of First Baptist Church of College Station and the Rev. Michael Mast of Holy Cross Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in College Station Cemetery.

      Ross, born in Milam County, had lived in Brazos County 60 years. He was employed with Texas A&M University housing and ground maintenance for 43 years before his retirement. Ross was a member of AARP and of a Baptist church.

      He was preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law, Irene and Bob Miller.

      Survivors include his wife, Albina Frances Ross of College Station; three sons, Emmett J. "Buck" Ross Jr. of Victoria, Robert L. "Bob" Ross of Navasota, Jackie David "J.D." Ross of Missouri City; six daughters, Mrs. James (Maisie) Gandy of Brownwood, Mrs. D.P. (Patsy) Sargent of Sherman, Mrs. Paul (Helen) Kennon of Houston, Mrs. Troy (Nell) Summerlin of Victoria, Sue Flato of Corpus Christi, Mrs. Dan (Dianne) Feldman of College Station; a brother, John Ross of Bryan; three sisters, Mattie Rosprim of College Station, Dolly Jericko, Lena Curd, both of Millican; 22 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Jean Ross of Victoria, Anne Ross of Navasota, and Patsy Ross of Missouri City are his daughters-in-law.

      Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Research.
