      Nell Ross Summerlin

      Nell Ross Summerlin, age 66 of Victoria, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, December 30, 2004. She was born in College Station, Texas to the late Emmitt James and Albina Frances Blazek Ross.

      Nell is survived by her children, Kristan Summerlin Ritchey and husband Patrick of Camp Hill, PA, Scott Blane Summerlin of Austin, TX, Karen Summerlin Flowers and husband William of Sugarland, TX, Kelly Summerlin Schleider and husband John of Washington, TX; sisters, Mickey Gandy of Brownwood, TX, Patsy Sargent of Dorchester, TX, Helen Kennon of Houston, TX, Sue Flato of Corpus Christi, TX and Dianne Feldman of College Station, TX; brothers, Emmitt James "Buck" Ross of Victoria, TX; Robert L. Ross of Anderson, TX and J.D. Ross of East Bernard, TX and four grandchildren, Brynn Murphy Ritchey, Jackson Ross Flowers, John Dabbs Schleider, Jr. and Benjamin Herman Schleider, IV.

      Nell was a graduate of A&M Consolidated High School and attended business school. She was a partner of Rings N Things gift shop for 28 years. Nell was a long time member of Baptist Temple Church, where she served as an elementary Sunday School teacher for many years. She was a member of Bronte Club and the Junior League. She was also on the board of the Children's Discovery Museum and the Victoria Public Library. Nell is remembered by her children as always thinking of others first. She was gentle, kind and a loyal friend. She was adored by her four loving grandchildren and was a big part of their young lives.

      The Funeral Service will be held 9:30 AM on Saturday, January 1, 2005 at the Rosewood Funeral Chapel with Rev. Gene Rice officiating. Private graveside services will be held.

      Pallbearers will be her brothers, Emmitt James "Buck" Ross, Robert L. Ross, J.D. Ross and her son-in-laws, Patrick Ritchey, William Flowers and John Schleider.

      Memorials may be made to the Victoria Chapter of Habitat for Humanity @ P.O. Box 1357, Victoria, Texas 77902.

      Rosewood Funeral Chapels is in charge of the arrangements.

      VICTORIA - Services for Nell Ross Summerlin, 66, of Victoria are set for 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Rosewood Funeral Chapel in Victoria.

      The Rev. Gene Rice will officiate. Private graveside services will be held.

      Mrs. Summerlin died Thursday.

      She was born in College Station, was a graduate of A&M Consolidated High School and attended business school. She was a partner of Rings N' Things gift shop for 28 years. She was a longtime member of Baptist Temple Church and was a member of Bronte Club and the Junior League. She also was on the board of the Children's Discovery Museum and the Victoria Public Library.

      Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Kristan Summerlin and Patrick Ritchey of Camp Hill, Pa., Karen Summerlin and William Flowers of Sugar Land and Kelly Summerlin and John Schleider of Washington: a son, Scott Blane Summerlin of Austin: five sisters. Mickey Gandy of Brownwood, Patsy Sargent of Dorchester, Helen Kennon of Houston, Sue Flato of Corpus Christi and Dianne Feldman of College Station: three brothers. Emmitt James "Buck" Ross of Victoria, Robert L. Ross of Anderson and J.D. Ross of East Bernard: and four grandchildren.
