      Walter Dickschat, 81, of Navasota, passed away on Friday, May 8, 2009, at St. Joseph Regional Health Center. Services are pending with Nobles Funeral Chapel in Navasota.

      Walter Dickschat
      June 24, 1927 - May 8, 2009

      Mr. Walter "Louie" Dickschat, 81, of Navasota, passed away Friday, May 8, 2009 at St. Joseph Regional Health Center. Visitation was held Sunday at Nobles Funeral Chapel, and funeral services were Monday at Friedens Church of Washington, U.C.C., with Rev. Ron Trimmer officiating. Interment followed in Friedens Church Cemetery.

      Mr. Dickschat was born June 24, 1927 in Old Washington, to Charlie and Martha (Renn) Dickschat. He loved farming and agriculture.

      He is survived by his step-daughter, Amy Stolz of Navasota; sister, Cordelia Lauter of Brenham; and grandson, David Stolz of Navasota.

      Louie was preceded in death by his parents; wives, [Doyas] Walser and Betty Ann Pertain; sisters, Lillian Grube, Erna Koester and Martha Louise Dickschat; brothers, Herbert Dickschat, Fritz Dickschat, Charlie Dickschat and Joe Dickschat.

      Serving as pallbearers were Ray Lauter of Brenham, Preston Boenker, Tracy Wellmann, Ray Stolz and Don Hinze, all of Washington, Bill Dickschat of Houston and David Stolz of Navasota. Honorary pallbearers were Milton Peters of Washington, Skeeter Stolz and Lugene Lohmeyer of Navasota, and Larry Dickschat of South Dakota.
