Cameron - Joe Otha Vincent, 90, of Cameron died Monday, October 19, 2009 at his home.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron with Rev. Joe Vincent, Jr. officiating. Graveside services will be 3:00 p.m. Friday at the Bryan City Cemetery. Family visitation will be Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Mr. Vincent, a retired auto body man, was born August 17, 1919 in Millican to Henry and Mary (Ivy) Vincent. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII. He married Georgianna Dewey November 7, 1945 and she preceded him in death. He was a member of the First Assembly of God in Cameron.
His son Roy Nathaniel Vincent, granddaughters, Melinda Jo Vincent, Marsha Jean Vincent, great grandson Jephrey Keith Vincent preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death were 6 brothers, Jim, Aaron, Brother, Chris, JD and Offie Vincent and 6 sisters, Margaret Geick, Tava Merka, Lydia Nichols, Mary Lee Arnold, Lucille Dockery and Dorothy Parson.
Survivors include: Sons Joe Otha Vincent, Jr. & wife Marilyn of Santa Fe Billy Vincent & wife Jean of Texas City Wayne Offie Vincent & wife Barbara of Cameron Sister Donia Vincent Fuller of New Waverly Numerous grandchildren, Great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
