Notes - Obituary:
John Pace Found Dead Here Sunday
John Pace, 74, retired fisherman, who lived in a small house in the western outskirts of Comanche - with his brother-in-law, George Stephens and family, was found dead in the floorless kitchen of the house about the middle of Sunday afternoon. Pace was said to have been clad only in a shirt and overcoat. It was first thought that there had been foul play as there was blood about his head, but after making a thorough examination, Justice of Peace George C. Wetzel issued a verdict of death due to exposure. The temperature was down to 16 during the period preceding the discovery of Pace's body.
Pace was last seen about the house at 10 a.m. Sunday by his nephew, A. E. Binson who lives near by. Members of the Stephens family wee away from home.
Funeral services were held at Oakwood Cemetery Monday with Rev. Marion Gaines, Freewill Baptist minister officiating.
