      Alphonse LeBlanc Jr.
      April 24, 1928 - January 24, 2007

      Alphonse LeBlanc Jr., 78, a resident of Patterson and native of Baker, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2007, at his residence.

      Alphonse was a rice farmer for many years, later becoming a cook for Tidewater Marine for 18 years. Alphonse was one of 17 children born to Alphonse LeBlanc Sr. and Nomie Hargrave LeBlanc.

      Alphonse is survive by his wife, Hilda Mae Abshire LeBlanc; one daughter, Linda Lou LeBlanc Verrett and her husband, Earnest Sr., of Ricohoc; one son, Steve Joseph LeBlanc and his wife, Lois, of New Mexico; one brother, Nelton LeBlanc of Crowley; six grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

      He was preceded in death by his parents, eight sisters and seven brothers.

      Visitation will be today, Friday, Jan. 26, 2007, from 6 p.m until 9 p.m. at Hargrave Funeral Home in Morgan City and will resume Saturday, Jan. 27, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Centerville from 8 am. to 10 a.m.

      A Mass of Christian burial will commence at 10 a.m. Burial will be in the church mausoleum.

      Hargrave Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
