Notes - Obituary:
Regina Clay Guidry Jackson
January 4, 1936 - September 18, 2021
Regina Clay Jackson was born in Kaplan, Louisiana on January 4, 1936 to Cleus W. Guidry and Effie Marie Guidry.
She was preceded into Heaven by both her parents; her son, Victor; and her husband of 60 years, Tommy G. Jackson.
She leaves to honor her memory, her daughters Kym Cowart and Kathryn Lindsay. Kathryn's husband Curt and their children, Jackson and Claudette. Her granddaughter, Victor's daughter, Kelsey Lowery and her husband Chris and their two sons, Carter and Gavin.
Regina graduated from LaGrange High, Class of 1954. She married Tom while they both attended high school.
She followed Tom around the state of Louisiana as he was going to school, worked and got promoted. They had all three children in the great state of Louisiana. He finally moved the whole family to Oklahoma. This is where they made their home for over 50 years.
Regina raised the three children. She was a den mother for Boy scouts and a Brownie leader for Girl Scouts. She loved to sew and was very creative in the decor of her home and her life.
She and Tom were busy in the community and the Catholic Church. About the time the first one graduated high school, they opened their own photography lab. Pro Photo Lab sustained them for the next 28 years. After the grandchildren were born, they bought a minivan and took the grandchildren on numerous trips around the country.
Tom passed in mid-2015 and Regina moved to be closer to her children and grandchildren in Texas in early 2017.
She was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia in September of 2019. And God called her home on September 18, 2021.
Her graveside service will be at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at Consolata Cemetery, under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Reverend Jeanne Gunter will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to their sons scholarship fund. https://occf.fcsuite.com/erp/donate/create?funit_id=3986
