      Eddies Owers

      SULPHUR - Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Hixson Chapel for Eddies Archie Owers, 71, who died at West CalCam Hospital.

      Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.

      Survivors include four sons, Harold E. Owers of Lafayette, Howard E. Owers of Breaux Bridge, Randall A. Owers of Texarkana, Texas, and Ralph L. Owers of ElDorado, Ark.; five daughters, Mrs. H.W. (Catherine) Welia of Jennings, Mrs. Larry (Charlotte) Dozier of Oberlin, Mrs. Weldon (Rita) Terro and Mrs. Glenn (Nita) Vincent of Sulphur and Mrs. Don (Madalyn) McFarland of Chickasaw, Ore.; two brothers, Fred R. Owewrs of Rayne and H.W. Owers of Tyler, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. Elma Chance and Mrs. Velma Warrick of Hornbeck; 30 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

      Hixson Funeral Home of Sulphur is in charge of arrangements.

      Eddies Owers

      Eddies Owers, 71, died at 5:55 a.m. Saturday, March 8, in a local hospital.

      He was a native of Hornbeck and had lived in Sulphur 10 years. He was active in Assembly of God churches and was instrumental in starting the Lake Arthur Assembly of God Church. He had been active in Faith Temple Church for the past 10 years.

      He was retired from Superior Oil Co. and owned Owers Nursery and Fence Co. for 15 years.

      Surviving are four sons, Harold E. Owers of Lafayette, Howard E. Owers of Breaux Bride, Randall A. Owers of Texarkana, Texas, and Ralph L. Owers of El Dorado, Ark.; five daughters, Mrs. H.W. (Cathleen) Welch of Jennings, Mrs. Larry (Charlotte) Doxier of Oberlin, Mrs. Weldon (Rita) Terro and Mrs. Gene (Nita) Vincent, both of Sulphur, and Mrs. Don (Madeline) McFarland of Chickasaw, Ore.; two brothers, Fred R. Owers of Rayne and H.W. Owers of Tyler, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. Alma Chance and Mrs. Velma Warrick, both of Hornbeck; and 30 grandchildren.

      Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 10, in Faith Temple Church with Rev. Gene Vincent officiating.

      Burial in Oak Grove Cemetery in Hornbeck was directed by Hixson Funeral Home.
