Truman Leroy Sanders
TYLER - Truman Leroy Sanders, 94, died Dec. 20, in Tyler. Mr. Sanders was born in Trinity, to James Barter and Martha Parker Sanders, one of six children. His motto was: Be Prepared. He lived by this motto and ingrained it into his children. He always told his family: "Always leave the world a better place than when you found it." Those that knew Truman Sanders know that he was Prepared and defiantly left this world a much better place for having lived in it.
Truman was preceded in death by his loving wife, Nina Mae Sanders; son, Truman Leroy Sanders, Jr.; both parents and siblings, Pearl McManners, Leona Evans, James Howard Sanders, and Alice N. Andrews.
Survivors include: daughters, Rosilea Gest and husband Pat and Helen Israel and husband Dr. C. Noah; grandchildren, Pat Gest, Jr., Maria Valenta, Byron Kirkpatrick, Rachel DeVaney, Doron Israel; great-grandchildren, Jonathan Gest, Kristyn Gest, Shane Brooks, Kirby Brooks, Braeden Kirkpatrick, and Joshua Kirkpatrick; great-great-grandson, Aaron Brooks; brother, Glover Parker Sanders; many beloved nephews and nieces.
Funeral Service: 3:00 p.m. Sunday, December 22, Dorcas Wills Baptist Church. Rev. Jared Burt and Rev. Leroy Brown Officiating.
Interment: Clapp Cemetery, Trinity.
Pallbearers: Pat Gest, Pat Gest, Jr., Shane Brooks, Kirby Brooks, Byron Kirkpatrick, Matt DeVaney, Hamer Dunlap, and Dr. C. Noah Israel.
Honorary Pallbearers: Glover Sanders
Waller-Thornton Funeral Home directed the arrangements.
