      ABBEVILLE - Wilfred Frank Trahan, 52, of Abbeville, died Monday, Aug. 16, 1999, at a New Orleans hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Vincent Funeral Home. Visiting hours will be from 8 a.m. today, with a 10 a.m. rosary, until service time. Vincent Funeral Home Inc. of Abbeville is in charge of arrangements.

      Trahan services set in Abbeville

      Funeral services for Wilfred Frank Trahan, 52, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 18, 1999, at Vincent Funeral Home in Abbeville. Rev. Cedric Sonnier will officiate the service.

      Mr. Trahan died Monday August 16, at Veterans Affairs Medical Center in New Orleans.

      Visitation Wednesday is from 8 a.m. until time of service. Rosary will be recited at 10 a.m.

      Mr. Trahan was a veteran of the Vietnam War and received several commendations, including National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal (with three campaign stars), Vietnam Campaign Medal, two overseas service bars, Bronze Star Medal, Bayonet Bar Combat Infantryman's Badge, Expert Badge (M-14), and the Purple Heart Medal.

      Survivors include his wife, Verna Palombo Trahan of Baldwin; a son, Frederic Wilfred Trahan of Albany; a daughter, Anna Giles Trahan Novac of Hammond; three brothers, Paul W. Trahan of Abbeville, Wilbert Trahan of Lake Charles, and Tommy Trahan of Scott; a sister, Mary Lou Trahan LeMaire of Abbeville; and two grandchildren.

      Preceded in death by Claude Trahan and mother, Giles Frederick Trahan.

      Vincent Funeral Home of Abbeville conducted all arrangements.
