Rites Held Wednesday For Sylvest Boudreaux
Sylvest Boudreaux, 81, retired rice mill owner, of Rayne died Wednesday at a Crowley hospital at 5 p.m.
Mr. Boudreaux was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the St. Joseph Society, and the Fire Association of Rayne, and has been a resident of Rayne for the past 70 years moving here from Lafourche parish. He was ill for a period of two weeks before his death.
Funeral rites will be conducted at high mass at 9 a.m. today at the St. Joseph Catholic church in Rayne with interment in the old St. Joseph cemetery.
Mr. Boudreaux is survived by his wife, the former Louisa Clement of Rayne; one daughter, Mrs. Lylia B. Moore of Rayne, three brothers, Dennis, Crowley; Eugene, Rayne; and Claude, Welsh; four sisters, Mrs. Alfred Dupont, Lyons Point; Mrs. Wilfred Richard, Leonville; Mrs. Felicien Duhon, Crowley; and Mrs. Emile Fontenot of Branch; one grandchild and three great-grandchildren.
Gossen Funeral home was in charge of funeral arrangements.
