Claudia Harrington Byron
BROUSSARD - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, 2003, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Broussard for Claudia Harrington Byron. Entombment will follow in the church mausoleum. Monsignor Harry Benefiel will officiate at the services.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. Saturday until time of the services. A rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. today.
A native of Vermilion Parish and a Lafayette resident, Claudia died Wednesday evening at a Lafayette hospital. She was 77.
She was retired from Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center after 25 years of service. She was a nurse's aid in the outpatient surgery department. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church where she was very devoted to her church and her faith. She enjoyed cooking and was known for her excellent cooking skills, and she also enjoyed line dancing. She was a regular at the Green House and at the Rose House where she enjoyed socializing with her friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her son, Roudley LeBlanc and his wife, Rita, of Lafayette; her daughter, Pamela Sullivan, of Lafayette; her brother, Nanson Harrington, all of Kaplan; her six grandchildren, Sean Matt, Chad A. LeBlanc, Monique Armentor, Shameika and Austin Byron and Angela Colvin; and her three great-grandchildren, Landon Matt and Michael and Claudia Colvin.
She was preceded in death by her father, Otto Harrington; her mother, Ozita Porter Harringotn; her first husband, Edwin LeBlanc, her second husband, Austin Byron; and her daughter, Charlene Rogers.
Serving as pallbearers will be Chad LeBlanc, Chris Matt, Toby Armentor, Mike Colvin, Pat Hebert and Albert Bell.
David Funeral Home, 316 Youngsville Highway, Lafayette, is in charge of the arrangements.
