Deana N. Thomas
October 28, 1962 - February 20, 2023
Deana Nicole Thomas (Kelley), age 60, of Pasadena, passed peacefully in her sleep at home on Monday, February 20, 2023. Though she will be dearly missed on this side of heaven, her family takes comfort knowing that she now rests in the arms of the Lord.
Deana (De) was born on October 28, 1962 to Herman & Johnnie Kelley (Owens) and was the 2nd of six children. Maternal by nature, she always shared a special bond with her siblings and her many nieces and nephews.
Deana graduated from Pasadena High in 1980 and was well loved by her classmates, many which she kept in touch with over the years. Deana married Michael Thomas on February 12, 1981 and was a devoted wife for 42 years. She was blessed with three children Jonathon, Joshua and Sharla who she adored. The only thing Deana loved more than being a mother was watching her children become parents and getting promoted to "DeDe." She was so proud of her grandbabies and when she wasn't loving on them she was crocheting blankets and toys for them to cherish for years to come.
Deana will be remembered fondly for her huge heart, the Christ-like grace she always showed others and her amazing snowman collection that was proudly displayed 4 months out of the year. She always acted out of love and only saw the best in everyone. With her quick wit and great sense of humor, De always knew how to light up a room. She spent countless hours working on cookbooks, her family tree, hosting nieces and nephews for vacation Bible school and crafting. Deana loved life and everyone in it, her memory will be cherished by all who were fortunate enough to know her in this lifetime.
Deana is preceded in death by her father Herman Kelley, grandson Noah Thomas, mother-in-law Sammye Massey and husband Ray Massey. Deana is survived by her Mother, husband of 42 years, her beloved children and their spouses, 10 beautiful grandchildren, 5 siblings and countless nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at Richey Street Baptist Church
