Linnie Hamlin
CLYDE - Linnie McKinley Hamlin, 56, of Collinsville, Okla., formerly of Abilene, died at 6 p.m. Sunday at Memorial Hospital in Collinsville after a short illness. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Bailey Funeral Home.
The Rev. Randy Hatfield of Cherry Heights Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be at Elmwood Memorial Park in Abilene.
Born Oct. 22, 1926, in Jayton, she married Willie E. "Bill" McKinley Sept. 5, 1942. She had lived in Arizona and Brownfield before moving to Abilene in 1973. Mr. McKinley died in 1977. She married Joe R. Hamlin in 1978, and they moved to Oklahoma.
Survivors include her husband; her father, Hobson Smith of Brownfield; two daughters, Willie Dean Holland of Slaton and Janice Hare of Clyde; a son, David McKinley of Clyde; three sisters, Lela Taylor of Brownfield, June Freeman of Cleburne and Barbara Smith of Burkburnett; three brothers, C.A. Smith of Canyon, Dan Smith of Arizona and L.H. Smith of Brownfield; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Sidney Freeman, Bill Sudberry, Bill Battles, Sidney Owens, Wesley Taylor and Leslie Holland.
