Clevenger, Loyd Harold
Died July, 18, 2008 of of cardiac arrest. He was born March 31, 1939 in Fayette, Missouri the son of Loyd Hansel Clevenger and Mary Lillian (nee Horn) Clevenger. He was a graduate of Culver Military Academy and attended the University of Missouri at Columbia where he received the B.S. Physics and M.S. Physics degrees. He was predeceased by his parents, his first wife, Patricia Lynn Clevenger (nee McBride), who died in 1993, with whom he had two children, Marc Alan Clevenger and Gregory Scott Clevenger, his stepson Kent Lewis Russell, and his second wife Elizabeth Clevenger (nee Acola) who died in 2006. Harold was retired from Texas Instruments where he had been a long time employee serving in various engineering assignments. Following his retirement, he served as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, North Dallas Shared Ministries, and AARP. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Marc Alan and Ann Marie Clevenger, and granddaughters Katherine Ann Clevenger and Jessica Elizabeth Clevenger of San Diego, California, and his brother and sister-in-law, James McLain Clevenger and Dr. Eve Clevenger, and his nephews Ben, Tom, and Adam Clevenger of Telford, England. A memorial service will be held at the First Unitarian Church of Dallas, 4015 Normandy, Dallas, TX 75205 on Saturday, July 26 at 3 pm. Contributions to the charity of your choice are suggested in lieu of flowers.
