  Obituary: Roy Lee Armstrong October 27, 1946 ~ June 4, 2013 66 Years Old Roy Lee Armstrong, Lubbock, passed from this life Tuesday, June 4, 2013. He was born into this life Sunday, October 27, 1946 to Albert and Texie (Purser) Armstrong in Marshall, Texas. Roy served his country in the United States Marine Corp. He was a Vietnam veteran; Semper-Fi. Roy was a member of Genesis Fellowship. Dad fought a good fight, he finished his race; he went home to his heavenly father. Roy was preceded in death by his father; a step-father Clarence Thompson; and two brothers, Robert "Bob" Armstrong and Edwin Armstrong. He is survived by his wife Linda Kay; two daughters, Kristi Ethier of Dallas, and Melissa Hinson of Austin; four grandchildren; his mother Irene Brantley; two brothers, Leslie Thompson of Lubbock, and Darrell Armstrong of Arizona. A funeral service, to celebrate Roy's 66 years of life, is scheduled for 1:30 P.M., Friday, June 7, 2013, at Agape Funeral Chapel, Lubbock, with Pastor Roger Garrett officiating; burial will follow, at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park Cemetery, Woodrow.
