Louise Yvonne Huitt
July 16, 1948 - May 17, 2021
Our precious mother, Louise Yvonne Huitt of Big Spring, Texas, passed away at a local hospital on May 17, 2021 at the age of 72 following a brief illness.
Services will be Friday, May 21, 2021 at 10 am at Myers and Smith Funeral Home and Chapel. Interment will follow at Mount Olive Cemetery followed by a family luncheon at Grace Fellowship Church.
Family will receive friends and family from 9 am to 7 pm and immediate family from 7 to 9 pm on Thursday.
Louise, the daughter of Billy Gene and Bennie Jean Barber, was born in Big Spring, Texas on July 16, 1948 and married Ronald E. P. Huitt on July 11, 1965.
Louise was a lifelong resident of Big Spring. She loved her family dearly and showed her love through all the meals she cooked throughout the years. She was an avid Christian and loved the Lord. She played piano at Grace Fellowship Church of God for many, many years. She was a caregiver for many years and loved the ones she cared for throughout her life. She loved gardening, keeping her flowers in the yard pretty, fishing, laughing, enjoying her kids and family and shopping for Christmas for all of her loved ones. She had many dear friends including one very special one, Carolyn Grimsley.
Survivors include her husband, three sons, Terry J. Huitt of Colorado City, Tx, Jerry D. Huitt of Big Spring, Tx and Preston R. Huitt and wife, Amy of Big Spring, Tx and one daughter, Teresa D. Darling of Big Spring, Tx. She has thirteen grandkids, Garrett Huitt and wife April, Timothy Huitt and wife Kym, Shandi Mooty and husband Jaime, Tony Mathews of Big Spring, Tx, Casey Huitt and wife Lucy, Brittani Marlow and husband James, Zoe Huitt, Joshua Caldwell, Genesis Caldwell, Nova Caldwell, Sierra Dreshman and husband Skyler, Cody Huitt, Braden Huitt and sixteen great-grandchildren, two brothers, Bobby Barber and wife Cheryll of Big Spring, Tx and Wayne Barber and wife Brenda of Greenwood, Tx and one sister, Sylvia Barber of Big Spring, Tx as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Billy and Bennie Barber, a son in law, James Darling and a daughter in law, Tammy Huitt.
Pallbearers will be Garrett Huitt, Casey Huitt, Timothy Huitt, Joshua Caldwell, Cody Huitt and Braden Huitt. Honorary pallbearers will be James Marlow, Aaric Garza, Hudson Huitt, Gavin Marlow, Skyler Dreshman, Tony Mathews and Jaime Mooty.
