  Obituary: Eaves Funeral services for Melvin C. Eaves, of Church Hill, were held February 21, at the Rock Prairie Baptist Church. Burial followed at the Rock Prairie Cemetery. Rev. Paul Eaton officiated at the services. Mr. Eaves was born on April 19, 1921 in Madison County. His parents were Claude and Elvie Eaves. He died February 17, in Houston. Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Elvie Eaves, Freeport; two sons, Melvin Lynn Eaves, Las Vegas, Nevada, and Charles Wayne Eaves, Conroe; one brother J. L. Eaves, Freeport; four sisters Mrs. Arie Lee Hartman, Bryan, Mrs. Louise Livingston, Tecumseh, Oklahoma; and seven grandchildren. Pallbearers were Bobby Cannon, Harold Eaves, Dwight Eaves, Wayne Wilson, Steve Shadder and Dennis Searcy. (Published in The Madisonville Meteor on February 28, 1980)
