- Obituary:
Mrs. Allie Denmon Wills, 96, of Cullen, La. died Friday, April 14, 2000 at her residence following a long illness.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 15, 2000 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Cotton Valley, where she was a member, with the Reverends Roy D. Strother, Jesse Smith and Kenny Joyner officiating. Burial was in the Cotton Valley Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Mortuary, Springhill, La.
Mrs. Wills was a descendant of Green and Lula Spencer Denmon and native of Sarepta, La. where she lived until her marriage to John E. Wills, of Cotton Valley. She was a former resident of Cotton Valley and had made her home in Cullen the last 10 years and was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. John E. Wills; a beloved nephew, Michael Olson, her parents, Green and Lula Spencer Denmon; sisters, Carrie Neely, Lillie Martin, Grace Burks and Iva Robinson; brothers, A.G. "Cap" Denmon and C.G. "Carl" Denmon.
She is survived by three sisters, Lucille Miniuks, of Orange, Ma., Maxine Miller of Cotton Valley, La., and Hazel Strother, of Cullen, La.; four brothers, A.O. Denmon of Lovington, NM, Jim Denmon and his wife, Doris of Forest, La., Arthur Denmon and his wife, Eve; Oscar Denmon and his wife, Alma, all of Tyler, Tx; a sister-in-law, Lillian Adkins Bigham, of Whiteoak, Tx.
Serving as pallbeareres were Terry Denmon, Robert Denmon, Tom Denmon, Art Denmon, Doug Denmon, Dan Miller, John Miller and Shane Strother.
