Claude C. Thomas
Claude C. (Tommy) Thomas, 51, owner and operator of Tommy's Sportsman Center on Padre Island Drive, died at 11:50 p.m.m yesterday in a local hospital after a long illness. He lived at 405 Glen Oaks.
A native of Ardmore, Okla., Thomas lived there until he came to Corpus Christi in 1937. He owned and operated the C. C. Thomas Building Contractor Co. until 1962, when he built the sportsman's center.
Thomas was a member of St. John's Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge 189, AF&AM; CC Commandery 59, KT; Perham Council 55, R&SM; Perham Chapter 91, RAM, and Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 354.
Survivors are his wife, Artie Mae; a daughter, Mrs. Dolores Lantrys of Dallas; four sons, Jerry, Jimmy, Larry and Lonnie Thomas, all of Corpus Christi; a sister, Mrs. Margaret Brannan of Marietta, Okla.; two brothers, Sherwood L. Thomas of Houston and William Thomas of Duarte, Calif., and three grandchildren.
The body will be taken to St. John's Methodist Church at 2 p.m. tomorrow from Maxwell P. Dunne Funeral Service Chapel. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. tomorrow at the church with the Rev. Claus Rohlfs, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Seaside Memorial Park.
Masonic graveside services will be conducted.

Funeral Set Today For Claude Thomas
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. today at St. John's Methodist Church for businessman Claude C. (Tommy) Thomas, 51, of 405 Glenoaks, owner and operator of Tommy's Sportsman Center on Padre Island Drive.
Burial will be in Seaside Memorial park after Masonic graveside rites. Thomas died Wednesday in a local hospital after a long illness.
Former owner of the C. C. Thomas Building Contractor Co., he built the Sportsman Center in 1962. He was active in Masonic affairs and was a member of Masonic Lodge 189, AF&AM; CC Commandery 59, KT; Perham Council 55, R&SM; Perham Chapter 91, RAM, and Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 354.
Thomas was a member of St. John's Methodist Church. He was born at Ardmore, Okla., and moved to Corpus Christi from there in 1937.

Maxwell P. Dunne Funeral Service is in charge of funeral arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Jack V. Buck, James L. Duncan, Elton J. Rachel, A. Garland Camp, Tom McCrarron, Johnny Mitchell, W. W. Odem and R. S. Gray.
