Joe B. Drgac, resident of the Cooks Point Community, was pronounced dead on arrival at the Goodnight Memorial Hospital at 5:10 p.m. Saturday, April 27, two days after his 64th birthday. He passed away suddenly, though he had been in failing health since last October.

Funeral services were held in the Cooks Point Brethren Church at 2:30 p.m. Monday, April 29, with the Rev. John Gantt, pastor, officiating. Mrs. Billy Albright, organist, accompanied Miss Barbara Chaloupka as she sang "Beautiful Garden of Prayer" and "Sweet Hour of Prayer". Burial was in the Cooks Point Cemetery under the direction of Bowers-Harvey-Schiller funeral directors.

Born in Burleson County on April 25, 1904, he was the son of Joseph and Annie Sebesta Drgac. He was a prominent farmer and a lifelong resident of Burleson County, a member of the Cooks Point Brthren Church and the SPJST Lodge of Cooks Point. In addition to his hobbies of gardening, growing flowers and raising chickens, he expressed his love for his Lord through the work and activities of his church, serving as treasurer of the Brotherhood, and was a member of the board of elders of the Cooks Point Brethren Church at the time of his death.

On October, 25, 1927, he was united in marriage with Miss Tillie Telg in the Caldwell Brethren Church with the late Rev. F.H. Horak officiating.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Tillie T. Drgac of Cooks Point, two daughters, Mrs. Josephine Jurecka and Mrs. Virginia Kubin, both of Austin; three grandchildren; five brothers, Walter Drgac of San Angelo, William Drgac, Ed Drgac, Frank Drgac, and Johnnie Drgac, all of Cooks Point; six sisters, Mrs. Otto Meyer of Cameron, Mrs. John Kubena, Mrs. Frank Kubena, Mrs. Wilton Chaloupka, Mrs. Rudolph Luksa, and Mrs. Emile Urbanovsky, all of Cooks Point.
