Notes - Obituary:
Edwin Krupala, 82 of San Angelo died at 7:20 p.m. Saturday, March 24, 2001.
Edwin was born April 3, 1918 in Rowena. He married Viola Drgac on November 21, 1947 in Wall and was a member of the Wall Brethren Church. He joined the U.S. Air Force in September of 1942 and served in Alaska and the Aleutian Islands during World War II. He helped build the first and second church buildings for the Wall Brethren Church. He was a farmer in Wall and he retired in 1986 and moved to San Angelo. He was a member of the Wall Young Farmers, Wall Fire Department, the Mutual Aid Society of the Unity of the Brethren, the SPJST and he served as past officer of Wall Brethren Sunday School and Board of Elders.
He loved the outdoors and gardening and always shared his vegetables with his neighbors. He was also known for making rohlicky for family and friends. His smile and wit was a blessing to us all. He was very proud of his family and was always quick to brag about his granddaughters and particularly his great-granddaughter.
Survivors include one daughter, Judy Holik and husband, Stanley, Jr. of San Angelo; two granddaughters, Amy Roe and husband, Jason of San Angelo, and Jill Holik of Austin; one great-granddaughter, Madeline Roe of San Angelo; three sisters in-law, Emily Krupala of Wall, Clarice Drgac of San Angelo and Dorothy Kokes and husband, Louis of San Angelo, two brothers-in-law, J.D. Drgac and wife, Loretta of Odessa and Hubert Drgac and wife, Noemi of San Angelo; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Edwin was preceded in death by his wife, Viola; brother, Emil Krupala; sister in-law, Evelyn Drgac; and three brothers in-law, Marvin, Albert and W.C. Drgac.
Service was at 10 a.m., Tuesday, March 27 at Wall Brethren Church with the Reverend Tommy Tallas officiating. Burial followed in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Arrangements were by Johnson's Funeral Home.
The family wishes to express its thanks to VistaCare Hospice, the staff at Regency House Care Center and the nursing staff on 5 South at Shannon Hospital for their care of Edwin.
Pallbearers were J.D. Drgac, David Lane, John Krupala, Robert Krupala, Jason Reed and Jason Roe.
The family requests memorials be made to Wall Brethren Church, VistaCare Hospice or a charity of one's choice.
