Mrs. Maggie Cochran Wallace
SAREPTA, LA Funeral services for Mrs. Maggie Cochran Wallace, age 85, will be held Friday, November 24, 2006 at 10:00 AM in Central Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Everett and Rev. Johnny Adkins officiating. Interment will follow in Springhill Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Mortuary, Springhill, LA.
Visitation will begin Thursday at 5:00 PM until 8:00PM.
Mrs. Wallace was born October 29, 1921 in Sarepta, LA to Porter and Gertrude Houston Cochran and passed away November 21, 2006 at her residence in Sarepta, LA following a lengthy illness. She was a lifelong resident of this area, a faithful member of Central Baptist Church, a bookkeeper and a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, John Freeman Wallace of Sarepta, LA; two sons, James Milton "Jimmy" McDonald of Sarepta, LA, John Edward "Johnny" Wallace and wife, Nancy Robertson of Downsville, LA; a daughter, Mary McDonald Evans and husband, James Ray of Monroe, LA; two granddaughters, Jane Elspeth Wallace, Michelle Williams Moon and husband, Cohn; a grandson, lan Hartford Wallace; a great grandson, Jacob Gardner; a sister, Gertiann Cochran Twitty of Springhill, LA and sisters-in-law, Nettie Covington Cochran of Longview, TX, Belva Torrence of Springhill, LA and Elvira Wallace of Magnolia, AR.
Mrs. Wallace was preceded in death by her parents; her previous husband, Donald Coleman McDonald and her brothers, Melbourne Cochran and James Lazerus Cochran.
Pallbearers will be Eric Simmons, Billy Sample, Buddy Simmons, Joe Curtis, John Horne and David Sawyer. Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Burnham & Benny Jones.
