  Obituary: Mrs. Elias Simon Rites Set Friday CROWLEY, La. - Mrs. Elias Simon, 57, of Crowley, died in the American Legion Hospital at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday following an illness of about two weeks. Funeral services have been scheduled for 9 a.m. Friday in St. Michael's Catholic Church, with burial to follow in Woodlawn cemetery. The body will remain at the Geesey - Ferguson Funeral Home until the time of the rites. Mrs. Simon was the mother of Miss Janice Simon, 18 year olf beauty who will represent Crowley at the International Rice Festival this year. The former Tazie Clement, Mrs. Simon was born Nov. 17, 1900, in Rayne. She moved to Crowley in 1921 and had been a resident since that time. Besides her daughter, Janice, Mrs. Simon is survived by her husband; another daughter, Mrs. Harold Mire of Crowley; three sons, Elmo, Oren, and Richard Simon, all of Crowley; three brothers, Walter Clement of Rayne, B.B. Clement of Lake Charles, and Elphie Clement of Rayne; two sisters, Mrs. M. J. Henry of Galveston, Tex., and Mrs. Leland Clark of Lake Charles; and nine grandchildren (Published in The Crowley Daily Signal on September 11, 1958)
